My review of Reaper's Stand by Joanna Wylde

This is the story of  Reese Hayes or Picnic as we know him.  For those of us who have loved Picnic in all previous Reapers books......we finally get his story.  Although this wasn't my fave of the series I still enjoyed hearing their story.

**“My inner caveman decided it didn’t matter. Fuck safety, and fuck picket fences. London Armstrong obviously couldn’t take care of herself, which meant someone needed to step in and fix this shit. If that meant claiming her, so be it.” **

Picnic is 100 % the hard ass alpha we love and yet he has a softer side to him that you will see in this story.  We follow his relationship with London.  Plenty of moments that will rip your heart out and plenty that will make it melt.

This story was quite a bit different in that both the leads were a lot older than most characters being told.  They are both set in their ways and stubborn.  They each are struggling through their own personal issues and not looking for anything - when it comes to relationships.   Picnic is still the "ladies man" and London is fine with her business and taking care of her niece.

Excerpt I love -  "Just let me be strong for you for a minute, okay?" he said softly.  "You've held on for a long time, sweetheart.  Nobody can say you haven't been strong.  But it's been a hell of a night, so why don't you let me hold you and help you right now."

We are once again thrown into the hard core lifestyle the Reaper's live.  Club whores, drama..you name it...it's there. We are introduced to the drama that London gets herself mixed up in.  And of course, that drama flows into the club.

I do think London was good for Picnic.  She definitely brought out his softer side.  Sometimes maybe a little too soft.

**“So far as I knew, Hallmark didn’t make a “Sorry I Interrupted Your Oral Sex” card.” **

Will Picnic be able to let go of his past in order to find happiness in the present? Once click to find out.

Another great job by Joanna!
