Amy's 5 star ARC Review of Surge (The Beat and the Pulse, #7) by Amity Cross

Dean Hayes has always fought in the shadow of his identical twin, Lincoln.
Climbing the ranks of professional MMA is his entire life, he’s never once stopped to forge anything meaningful outside of the octagon. Instead, he’s fixated on unrequited feelings for a woman who only ever used him for her own end.
After ten years hoping for a miracle, holding onto his hopeless fantasy could cost Dean his one shot at true love…and he doesn’t even know it.

When Josie Cunningham left her dead end job to become the Public Relations manager for the hottest pair of fighters in the AUFC—the Hayes Twins—she never knew how wild the ride was going to be.
Dean has been thorn in her side from day one, constantly pushing her buttons…including the one right over her heart. Bending the rules and none the wiser for her secret attraction, he tears at her self-control until she snaps under the pressure.
When Josie decides to act on her feelings, her world is turned upside down… And she’s thrown right in the path of the storm of the century with no way to shield her heart.

With the middleweight title up for grabs, all’s fair in love, war…and the octagon.

5 stars – of course

You all know I love this lady and you know I love this series and all its characters. There is nothing I can say that can express how amazing her brilliance is. These books are easy reads, they are entertaining, they allow you to connect with the characters, there are great storylines …. I could go on and on. The covers . If that doesn't send you to click then something is wrong with you. HAHA!

These books are all standalones but you would be nuts to read them as such and not read the entire series starting back at the beginning. Why – well because in Flow the previous book, I hated Josies’ face – like put me in the ring with your sorry stuck up ass and let me beat you down. …. Now …. Well … maybe my thoughts have changed just a little. The stunt she pulled … no … no … and hell to the no. Not my Hammish --- NO!

Surge is the 7th book in The Beat and The Pulse series and this is Dean and Josie’s story. Lincoln and Dean Hayes are on the circuit making huge names for themselves. (Lincoln’s story has already been told and it's so fantastic – see why would you want to miss that?) Josie is helping the boys get what they deserve as she is a PR genius. Her downfall .. she sucks at going after the man she wants and hurt the good man she had. I'm serious though, you need to pick up Flow to understand all of “this.” Between these two books you will hate Josie and maybe then love her or not hate her as much … not sure. My verdict is still out on that but I don’t want to smash her face in anymore at least. HAHAHA!

Dean is a charmer, smitten with the wrong girl and still trying to fix what he can't have or thinks he wants. Monica Miller --- GAH ---- dirty whore that she is … whew I wanted to beat her ass too. Again to appreciate the hate I have for this character you need to read the series people! Dean is blinded by the girl he has had a crush on since the day he walked into the gym. The girl that is the devil ---

Am I confusing you – good. That’s the point --- you need to run and grab this one up if you have read the series and are up to par – if not then go back and get caught up. We have a fighter who has his own tricks up his sleeve in this one attacking the Hayes men in all the right places sending their hackles into overdrive. Gabe – watch that one.

Im talking in circles but I wont and never do give anything away. Trust me on this --- click it up – read on and when you are done --- click up the other series from Amity --- you won't regret it!

Thank you for the ARC! I loved this releases just like the others. I cannot wait to read more. There better be MORE! --- LOL! -- Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets!

Amy's 3 star ARC Review of Rogue (Deadliest Lies #1) by Michele Mannon

My lover is dead.
And they think I killed him.
I'm running rogue. Hell bent on both revenge and redemption. Whatever it takes, I'm going to finish a job that began nine months ago. An unauthorized assignment that turned horribly, devastatingly wrong. My miscalculation. My fault. My heart left shattered into incomplete pieces which will never wholly fit back together again.
But first I have to outsmart my former organization and the hired killer they've sent after me; a killer who knows my every move, who’s been inside my head, my heart, and my dreams.
I'm the traitor, Kylie. The rogue mercenary. Jaxson's newest assignment. And this is our love story.

3 stars

Rouge is a new book heading into a new series by Michele Mannon. It has action and adventure which I love but I just couldn’t follow the story line. I hate writing reviews that I didn’t love the books I read because I admire authors and the willingness to take a chance and open themselves up by writing a story knowing it will be reviewed. I applaud their courage to do something I could never do.

However we all have our preferences and this book just didn’t do it for me. A crew of assassins running rapid and a love triangle of sorts just had me going in ten different directions. There is backstory of the two characters Kylie and Jaxson which is good but again the way things developed were just odd to me.

It took me a bit to read it and when that happens I know my interest wasn’t where it should be. Revenge and adventure yes … I storyline I could love and want more of … I am afraid not. Take a chance though and click it up … let me know what you think! We all love different things!

Thank you for the ARC! Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.

Amy's 3.5 star ARC Review of Shadow: Cerberus MC Book 3 by Marie James

Morrison “Shadow” Griggs, VP of the Cerberus MC, is a force to be reckoned with. Women fall at his feet, willing to do almost anything for a night with him.

Misty Bowen is the exception. She’s young and impressionable, but with her religious upbringing, she’s able to resist Shadow’s advances… for a while at least.

Never one to look back on past conquests, Shadow is surprised that he’s intrigued by Misty, which only grows more when she seems to be done with him without a word.

Being ghosted by a twenty-one-year-old is not the norm where he’s concerned, and the rejection doesn’t sit right with him.

Life goes on, however, until Misty shows up on the doorstep of the Cerberus MC clubhouse with a surprise that rocks his entire world off of its axis.

With only the clothes on her back and the consequences of her lies and deceit, Misty needs help now more than she ever has. Alone in the world and desperate for help, she turns to the one man she thought she’d never see again.

Shadow would never turn his back on a woman in need, but his inability to forgive has always been his main character flaw. Unintended circumstances have cast Misty into his life, but will he have the ability to keep his distance when her situation necessitates a closeness he’s never dreamed of having with a woman?

3.5 stars

In this Cerberus MC we continue our story with Shadow and Misty; a love that has taken a turn and is definitely a roller coaster ride. I have loved Shadow since I started this series and personally I wanted just a little more drama if you can imagine and hard nosed play from our main man. I honestly have to say I did not like the preface of this story. Bedding a man and telling him a lie that leads to more than they bargained for …. Nope. Not into that … sorry this hit me wrong.

Shadow is 33 and Misty is 21 – hooking up is the name of the game or was the name of the game. However a one night stand turned into a bigger mess for both characters. The age difference for sure played a role in the deceit … or at least I would hope it did. I just couldn’t get past the preface of how things played out and I don’t want to give it away so I can't really say much. However Misty continuing to weave deception .. .nope .. didn’t like it. Especially the lies she told to the people that were helping her.

I wanted to love this story because I love Shadow – I still love him but I don’t love the story. I'm sorry .. I really wanted to. I will continue with this series as I love we get the others we have met all wrapped up in this one as well – thank you for that! However I will have to move on and hope that the next release will allow me to open up to Shadow’s story a little bit more.

Thank you for the ARC! Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.

Amy's 4 star Review of Overdosed: Fury's Storm MC by Zoey Parker

I'M ADDICTED TO HER, AND I WON'T STOP UNTIL I GET MY FIX.

When a little girl shows up on the front stoop of the Fury's Storm HQ,
I tell her the obvious truth: "You're at the wrong place, hon."
But then she hands me a note that flips my world upside down.

It says she's my daughter.

I'm the last man on this earth who should be caring for a child.
The only women in my life are the rotating cast of scantily clad groupies who keep my bed warm at night.
So what the hell am I supposed to do with a daughter?

I tell my men to find a way to get Gigi back to her mother.
But they come back and tell me the girl's mom has disappeared without a trace.
Now what?

Just then, a woman knocks at the clubhouse door.
I open it and freeze.
Jamie is a knockout to say the least.
She's pretty, but she doesn't know it.
Sexy, but she hasn't been made to feel it.
Eager, if only the right man were there to stoke her fires.
That's where I come in.

Jamie is Gigi's teacher and she's desperate to keep her favorite student safe.
But as clues to Gigi's mom's disappearance crop up in new and unexpected places, the two of us clash and mesh with wild intensity.
I've never felt like this about a woman before.
I want her.
I need her.
I crave her.

And I'm going to take her, again and again... Until I overdose.

OVERDOSED is a full-length, standalone romance novel with steamy hot sex, strong language, a happily ever after ending, and NO CLIFFHANGERS. Contains dark and disturbing themes, and over-the-top sexiness that may be uncomfortable for some readers.

Perfect for fans of Alexa Riley, Chiah Wilder, L Wilder, Sabrina Paige, Lauren Landish, Vanessa Waltz, Jordan Marie, and Nicole Snow.

For a limited time, contains a free bonus novel, TROUBLE, plus a sneak peek at my sexy MC romance, BOUNTY.

4 stars

So I found this book on Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets blog and it was a gem. I loved it. Talk about an entertaining and easy read that was GOOD. There is the key word. This book also hit home for about two seconds because the guy .. no .. but the situation .. yes. (I'm a Kindergarten teacher.) And you worry about your students when they are absent for a length of time. This is how the story begins ….

Jamie is worried about one of her star students Gigi. She knows her mother’s background and although Rae has been trying her best lately maybe something happened. Drugs can do that to you. Deciding to go past the house she finds it abandoned --- taking her courage she knocks on a neighbors door to find out the name of Gigi’s father. Little does she know what she is in for as she head to the Fury Storm MC looking for Lance. Jamie knows Gigi has never met her father and fears what she is going to find once she gets to the club house.

Lance is the president of his MC. He parties hard and the girl next to him .. he doesn’t even remember her name. The life is getting hard for him. He is getting too old for all of this but stopping … naw … why. Who wouldn’t want this. Heading to the clubhouse he has no idea his life is about to change. Opening the door he finds a small child with a note I her pocket. Terrified the little girl refuses to speak but gives him the note. Rae … what in the hell has she done as there is no denying this child is his. Why is he just now finding out and where the heck is Rae?

This is a really good read with action. You won't believe what Rae has done and lord knows I wanted to smack her. I loved the banter between Jamie and Lance. The story was well written and don’t we wish this happened when we went in search of our lost kids … uh yes … every girls wants a mans man right?!?!?!?! -- This is a standalone with an HEA.

Great read -- I recommend clicking this one up. This book is free on Kindle Unlimited. After you finish this one click up the others Zoey offers. I plan to! Thank you for a really enjoyable story Zoey. I look forward to more from our Fury’s MC.

Amy's 3.5 star ARC Review of Bane (Bad Boys of X-Ops, #4) by Rie Warren

The highly anticipated final book in the bestselling Bad Boys of X-Ops series is here!

High stakes.
Low margins.
And everyone wants the woman I’m teamed up with dead.

BANE
Swagger, strut, snarl. Three things I can do with both eyes closed. Oh, and shoot the shit out of tangos. I always do my job, whether it’s patching up a fellow operative or taking down a serious threat. Apparently this time my job is to babysit Baby Spy

We’ve followed the Los Reyes de Guerra cartel to the drug-trafficking capital, Mexico City. Our orders? Get in with the guerrillas and ultimately take them down. There’s only one problem—I have another set of mission directives linked to Kiki AKA Baby Spy.

Should be easy enough. Except it seems I’ve developed an unhealthy attraction to Kiki, along with an inconvenient conscience. She’s a wild woman with an unforgiving attitude that definitely makes me bone hard for her.

Nothing is as it appears, least of all Kiki Damage.

KIKI
Yeah. They call me Baby Spy. I’m fully aware the entire T-Zone team blames me for narking out a previous mission gone wrong. So, I can’t understand why the powers that be assigned me to this op. Or maybe I can, which just makes my situation even more dire.

I know Bane wants me, but I’m beginning to think he has an ulterior motive for keeping me close. And it’s not just the panty-melting hot sex with the big, gruff, silent killer. There’s something incredibly vulnerable in the way Bane watches me, like he’s looking for one last saving grace.

None of that matters now. When the situation heats up, I find out Bane’s real mission. I may have fallen in love with him, but it’s already too late. This entire web of lies goes a lot higher than any of us ever imagined, and my neck is only the first one on the line.

Bane includes a special series epilogue from the badass women: Jade, Tilly, Blaize, and Kiki.

Bad Boys of X-Ops—complete four part series:
Walker: April 5th
Justice: April 25th
Storm: May 23rd
Bane: July 27th

Bane
Rie Warren
3. 5 stars

Bane is the final installment of the Black Ops series. I haven’t loved this series but I didn’t hate it. I think I just loved her other books more. It can be read as a standalone but you will miss out on the other characters events of where they are now and why.

Bane has been assigned with Kiki to complete a mission. Kiki has no idea what she is in store for as she believes this is an in and out easy objective – not the case. Bane knows exactly what is going to go down and that the mission is far from streamline. The special orders were only given to him leaving him wondering how this is going to play out and who can he trust.

Griffin Bane is a stone cold killer and his morals you could say are lacking. He's always been there for the guys and certainly supports the loves they found but him .. nope. Kiki Dillion is throwing a wrench in his don’t give a shit attitude. There are some serious plot twist in this one and the characters question themselves rightly so.

I did like Bane but again this entire series these characters just didn’t do it for me in the scenarios they were cast in. Maybe as a reader I want to get away from the terrorist type of read and other things that go along with it. I don’t want to have to think that much maybe? I don’t know. If you love this series you will certainly love this book.

Click it on up --- I look forward to whatever Rie puts out next because again I do love her as an author. Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets. Thank you for the ARC!

Amy's 4.5 star ARC Review of Fleeting Moments by Bella Jewel

**New Standalone Romance**

One single moment changes everything
In one breath, you can have it all
A split-second later, it can all disappear
Vanished forever

That was me
I had it all
Then in a cruel twist of fate, it was taken from me
A beautiful life gone in a flash

But he was there
He was there to pick me up when I fell
To protect me
My savior. My rock.

He was just a stranger
Just a selfless stranger with a face I'll never forget
Can't forget
Won't forget

And like everything else, he just disappeared
As if he never existed
I have to find him
I need to find him

He has to know that he saved me
He has to know that in that one fleeting moment, he was all I could see

**This book contains adult themes**

Bella Jewel
4.5 stars

I am a Bella Jewel fan .. through and through – I didn’t know what to expect with this book as the cover was different for her and from what we are used to. I can tell you this is a new brand of need to read by Bella.

We have a new family unit with extensions and I hope to lawd we get the others stories. I don’t know much about this release except for that it appeared on my kindle and I couldn’t wait to dig in. I was scared and thought please let me love this and I did.

There was a paragraph at the end of the book that really resonated with me. I don’t usually .. in fact EVER quote from books but this I have to share.

“Even when we don’t realize it, even when we think that things couldn’t get any worse, life will throw us a moment that suddenly helps it make sense. It pieces it all together, it puts I all back into perspective, and you start to wonder how you ever wished for a different path. “

That right there sealed the deal for me on this release. Don’t get me wrong I loved the lead male.

Heath Walker – the mysterious man that holds Lucy’s attention. He saved her from so much more than that day she could have lost her life. He saved her from a life that wasn’t what she thought. Gerald was supposed to be her everything – the one – but somehow he turned and walked away leaving her at the moment she needed him the most. A man she must find – who she knows isn’t imaginary – a man who wears angry scars on his body and his heart.

Fleeting Moments introduces us to more characters that are obviously bad ass men. Blake and Sheldon, two of Heath’s best friends – Johnny his twin brother and Tank who is the oldest. The ONLY thing I can say is that there were a few things that I felt were rushed and needed to play out a bit more in depth. I wanted to know more about Heather and I also wanted to know what Gerald’s intentions and path is in the future. I also need to find out more about Haley. Im just not ready for this to end and I hope that we get more releases with more answers and more stories.

This is a really good read. The subject matter is somewhat iffy maybe for some readers. There isn’t anything graphic but there is talk of rape. If that is a trigger then please do not click. Again there are no depicted scenes or graphic scenes but the word is used more than once.

Thank you Bella for the ARC – I always am giddy when I see your name on my kindle!

My 3.5 star Review of Bossman by Vi Keeland

From New York Times Bestseller, Vi Keeland, comes a sexy newstandalone novel.

The first time I met Chase Parker, I didn't exactly make a good impression.

I was hiding in the bathroom hallway of a restaurant, leaving a message for my best friend to save me from my awful date.

He overheard and told me I was a bitch, then proceeded to offer me some dating advice.

So I told him to mind his own damn business―his own tall, gorgeous, full-of-himself damn business―and went back to my miserable date.

When he walked by my table, he smirked, and I watched his arrogant, sexy ass walk back to his date.

I couldn't help but sneak hidden glances at the condescending jerk on the other side of the room. Of course, he caught me on more than one occasion, and winked.

When the gorgeous stranger and his equally hot date suddenly appeared at our table, I thought he was going to rat me out.

But instead, he pretended we knew each other and joined us―telling elaborate, embarrassing stories about our fake childhood.

My date suddenly went from boring to bizarrely exciting.

When it was over and we parted ways, I thought about him more than I would ever admit, even though I knew I'd never see him again.

I mean, what were the chances I'd run into him again in a city with eight million people? Then again...

What were the chances a month later he'd wind up being my new sexy boss?

I am probably one of a few that didn't LOVE this book.  I liked it.  Don't get me wrong.  It didn't just hit me in the gut with all the feels I had heard about.  I think this is a fun, light beach read.  I enjoyed the Dual POV.

I enjoyed the banter between the two characters.  Yet, felt as if the "attraction" they had for one another just drug on and on without any action.  The beginning and how they met was a great start to their story and it made me excited and then things kind of went flat.  There was just too much push and pull through out and seemed repetitive.

I enjoyed Chase and his sense of humor.  Reese - annoyed me on so many levels.  Some parts were predictable.

This is just one opinion out of many that have read it and loved it.   Like I said... I didn't Love it but I don't Hate it.  I'm neutral.

Amy's 5 star ARC Review of Salvatore (A Dark Mafia Romance) By Natasha Knight

Lucia

It all started with a contract signed by him, then by me, while our families watched. While my father sat silent, a man defeated, giving his daughter to the Benedetti monsters.

I obeyed. I played my part. I signed my name and gave away my life. I became their living, breathing trophy, a constant symbol of their power over us.

That was five years ago.

Then came the time for him to claim me. For Salvatore Benedetti to own me.

I had vowed vengeance. I had learned hate. And yet, nothing could have prepared me for the man who now ruled my life.

I expected a monster, one I would destroy. But nothing is ever black or white. No one is either good or evil. For all his darkness, I saw his light. For all his evil, I saw his good. As much as he made me hate him, a passion hotter than the fires of hell burned inside me.

I was his, and he was mine.

My very own monster.

Salvatore

I owned the DeMarco Mafia Princess. She belonged to me now. We had won, and they had lost. And what better way to teach a lesson than to take from them that which is most precious? Most beloved?

I was the boy who would be king. Next in line to rule the Benedetti Family. Lucia DeMarco was the spoils of war. Mine to do with as I pleased.

It was my duty to break her. To make her life a living hell. My soul was dark, I was hell bound. And there was no way out, not for either of us. Because the Benedetti family never lost, and in our wake, we left destruction. It’s how it had always been. How I believed it would always be.

Until Lucia.

Author’s Note: Salvatore and Lucia’s story is a steamy standalone romance with a happily-ever-after. No cliffhanger and no cheating. It is intended for mature readers.

Salvatore
Natasha Knight
5 stars

Lately the mafia genre has left me not satisfied and then boom here comes Natasha Knight with Salvatore. It was super! The cover --- oh wow .. as you all know I go back and take a few minutes to really study it after I turn the last page – this cover is spot on. This is Salvatore Benedetti --

The prologue is the start of a story you wont want to put down. Salvatore is signing the papers of belonging – Lucia now belongs to him. Frightened and innocent staring at the papers he it was decided for her – for both of them. With tears streaming down her face and no help from her father – Salvatore’s father says one word that changes everything to Lucia – “sign.”

Lucia Annalisa DeMarco now had lost her future. She was now a token, a trophy of Salvatore’s family triumph over the DeMarco family. Five years later after being sent away to an all girls school Lucia is back – now ready – Salvatore intends on claiming what is his.

Holy moly – I love Salvatore. Who knew. This character made the story something that you want to consume every chance and every second you have to read. Lucia is written very well of course but I was intrigued with this man who was supposed to be a brutal mafia heir. Emotionless and a monster --- ? I think not.

I don’t want to spoil anything and of course this isn’t a stop and smell the roses book – it's dark and gritty of course but nothing you will can't stomach. This isn’t the worse I have read and it's not the lightest .. .but what I can tell you is that if you want to try a mafia book then this one is for you. Click it on up and give it a try. I really think that you will enjoy how the story weaves and ends – there is no cliffhanger which Im loving these days. Cliffhangers lately are killing me!

Thank you Natasha for the ARC and the chance to read. What a great author – I can't wait to read more so please – write us some more! I LOVED this story –

Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets. Go check out Tracy’s blog! She is amazing!
