Amy's 5 star ARC Review of The Devil's Spare Change : Malone Brothers Book 2 by Samantha Cole

FBI agent Sean Malone put in a transfer to return home to North Carolina in order to be closer to his expanding family. What he didn’t expect was a pleasant surprise from his youth. Little Gracie Whitman is all grown up now and drop-dead gorgeous, and he finds himself thinking about her in ways he’d never done before.

When Grace’s parents retire to Arizona from New York, she decides to follow her dream of opening her own physical therapy center. Whisper, North Carolina, where her aunt lives and where Grace had spent her summers, is the perfect place for it—especially when she finds her childhood crush has returned to Whisper as well.

As the two get to know each other all over again, Sean’s month-long planned vacation is brutally interrupted. A deranged serial killer has settled in Dare County, North Carolina, and after three victims, the local law enforcement is bringing in all the help they can. Are the killings over or have they just begun? And if they continue, who will be the next victim?

The Malone Brothers series can be read as stand alones but they follow a timeline and are best read in order.

Book 1 - Take the Money and Run (KC & Moriah)

The Devil's Spare Change
Samantha Cole
5 stars

With bloodshot eyes and running on empty teaching 5 year olds thanks to Samantha Cole I still have to give this book 5 stars --- Yup I stayed up all night and yup my husband kept asking me what I was doing – Finally having enough I blinded him with my Iphone light and told him to shut it because there was a serial killer on the loose leaving --- asiowejrnnbiadfhais --- and ---- sodijfaisdgnlkdsghih --- doing soijadfnasdkfn to a few unfortunate --- saoidjfadfjoggh --- in Whisper NC. -- (No spoilers allowed!)

The Malone boys are back and this time we get Sean. Trying to vacation before heading out to his new assignment Sean Malone is thrown into a whirlwind of events. Plowing him down like a dang curvaceous tornado is a girl he used to know named … – Gracie Whitman –Sean finds his pants pitching a tent at the sight standing in front of him – something he needs to get control of before Uncle Dan, Bonnie and Jinx arrive.

Gracie has left New York and come back to her summer haven to open up her own PT center. Arriving at the cottage she finds Sean Malone staring back at her like she has a horn growing from her head. Little does she know is that Mr. Malone is in shock over the woman standing in front of him.

Getting to know each other again is going to be a treat especially if Sean can get some of that good ole PT on some of his man parts .. LOL! However a serial killer is putting a damper on the budding romance and let's just say is a bad day to be a hoe or a bitch. The killer wants his work respected and not feared.

This book is outstanding and a must read just like all the rest of Samantha’s books. We get back in touch with the oldest Malone; KC and his wife Moriah – celebrate a new arrival and also get to enjoy some antics between Brian and Sean. Uncle Dan is a dream – I'm telling you he and Bonnie need to just fill the space between them. I have never wanted a couple together so badly!

We also get the delight of a new four legged rescue – a cat this time. LOVE IT! I would love to have heard the thoughts of Rico at some of the antics going on. There is also another awesome character we meet named Suki Ralston. Suki happens to be one of Sean’s best friends and a profiler … she is sex on heels that one and some dude is going to bite the dust at her hands for sure in the future. This woman cant be ignored.

The Devil's Spare Change can be read as a standalone but I wouldn’t. Pick up Take The Money and Run to read KC and Moriah’s story. Meet the family --- you wont want to miss it.

Whats next --- No Way In Hell – a crossover novel … Prepare your pants … with all these badass men and women you are going to need a spare. Nothing turns my crank to fire high like a man with a plan who can handle a woman who knows here way and what she wants just like him.

The storyline is fascinating and the characters are flawless --- grab it up friends. It’s a must read!

Amy's 4.5 star ARC Review of Empire (The Syndicate Series Book 5) by Kathy Coopmans

99 cent special pre-order price. Price increases to 2.99 on release day!
From USA Today Best Selling Author
EMPIRE is the final book in The Elite Forces Series. It is recommended to read books 1-4 before attempting to read this
We’ve loved.
We’ve lost.
We are hated.
Our Empire is crumbling right before my eyes. No one can be trusted for reasons that are consuming me, controlling me and ripping me away from my family.
This new family who has taken over the streets of New York has taken someone away from us. We will not let them take anymore. The only way to stop them is to sacrifice one of us.
I’m loved.
I’m lost.
I hate.
*Recommended for readers over the age of 18 due to graphic violence, explicit language, and sexual situations.

4.5 stars

Empire is the final book in the Elite Forces Series. I recommend you read the first four books before you dive into this one. I will tell you there is somewhat of a recap at the beginning so you wouldn’t be completely lost but in order to appreciate the turmoil and the horror the Diamond family has been through and survived I would read books one through four prior.

Roan and Calla are at the head of the family with the murder of Roan’s father. There is someone close to the family who knew exactly where his father would be. That can only mean one thing …. However getting on the inside undetected is going to be a feat. Something the family cannot do alone.

The family loyalty is tested – bonds are meant to be broken .. right? If you cannot trust your own family then who can trust .. that is the question. The Empire is falling apart and everything the family knows is being tested. Calla cannot let the family be picked off one by one – Roan is determined he will make the person who is responsible pay in blood and pain.

I absolutely loved this series … it's going to be hard not having the guys and their ladies around. Cain, Roan, Aidan, Dilan, Calla, Alina, Deidre and Anna – now we have the kids – the family must survive.

I know I'm being vague but I cannot say too much and certainly don’t want to say anything that would sway a reader to believe they know what happens or who is gunning for the Diamond Empire. I love Kathy and I hope that she will begin a new journey for us with a new family --- a new adventure. This has to be my favorite of the five as Calla is a bad bad woman … who doesn’t love that!

The cover is stunning -- I love the image and the colors that surround the couple. Bravo Kathy -- One of your best.

Thank you for the ARC! Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath the Sheets.

Amy's 5 star ARC Review of Hopelessly Shattered (Sacred Sinners MC- Texas Chapter) by Bink Cummings

 Single Mother- ✔

Motherless Childhood- ✔

Black Rimmed Glasses to Fit the Job Description- ✔
The Biggest A-hole in the World for an Ex- ✔✔

When you’re born you never know what life will throw at you. You just make the best of it no matter what happens. That’s pretty much been my go-to since infancy. Then the charming, bald headed, blue eyed, Brent came along and I thought all the suck in life had been flushed down the drain. Ha! That’s when my true journey began—motherhood.
This is my story, on how I took life by the go-nads when I decided I needed closure from my past—my father’s sudden death in particular. But what happens next wasn't anything I expected… It’s hopeless… shattering….exciting … scary…joyful…priceless… and I owe it all to one man... Bear, a chapter president of the Sacred Sinners Motorcycle Club.

Warning: Contains adult sexual content, the excessive use of the F-word, cheating, and whatever else that makes it unsuitable for anyone under the age of 18.

1st Novel in a Duology - that could also be read as a possible standalone.

Hopelessly Shattered (Sacred Sinner MC Texas Chapter) By Bink Cummings
5 stars -- cause I don’t even know what to say

So … I can't even begin to put this is words that make sense so please forgive me. I can speak about the cover. Once again Bink has given us a cover that tells a story in itself. A strong woman … a hard working woman … a little lost but holding her own .. searching for answers and carrying that weight on her shoulders not blaming anyone else. A woman with a heart that beats for her family and a soul that fights for it. No shame … just certainty. LOVE IT – and that my friends is Kat.

No father … a man who has come full circle … and a man .. yes ... Kat met a man … the man’s name was Brent … the man gave her the loves of her life and then that man left a note and walked away. Trying to put pieces of her puzzle together – not with Brent – but with her past and the mystery around her father’s death she receives a message from someone named Bear. Unafraid and ready to put something; anything together, Kat heads to meet this man named Bear.

What happens next will have you dropping your jaw and whispering many unacceptable words under your breath. I cannot tell you the roller coaster ride you are about to go on. Kat is another one of Bink’s characters (real or not -- based on reality) is a woman that earns our respect. A woman, that on the last page, you will not believe the path she is going to continue to travel. The cliffhanger or the pause in the story will make you wonder what in the heck is next …

Thank you Bink as always for the ARC … this was a complete surprise showing up on my Kindle and I couldn’t have been more thrilled. A quick read .. a must read and just the beginning … cheers .. your are going to need it.

Amy's ARC review of Ruin by Clarissa Wild

A new Standalone Romance novel by New York Times & USA Today Bestselling author Clarissa Wild.

Maybell Fairweather was the girl of my dreams.

Always smiling brightly, she kept going, despite the names her classmates called her behind her back.
She was full of curiosity and independence, the extent of which I could only be jealous of. Even though she had all odds stacked against her, she knew what she wanted from life and pursued it, no matter the cost.

She was completely my opposite in every way.
Perfect, even though she couldn’t see it.
Perfect … until me.

Because this is the story of how I ruined her.

Based on a true story. Standalone Romance. No cliffhanger.

**see the note on rating**

Clarissa Wild has put herself on the shelf. Based on a true story – actual events therefore there will be no stars; just a review that explains the luminosity of opening oneself up for all the word to see. Two people – one story –

Bringing light into your life is never easy. Having the courage to allow someone to put your story out there is brave and the reader should read from the heart. This story was one that I was honored to read.

Maybell Fairweather is an peculiar soul. A soul that God chose to make different giving her gifts in ways she would later appreciate. Not handling social situations, Maybell occasionally puts herself out there but not often. In one swoop her life is forever changed and in order to survive she has to rely on others --- something that affects her personally – mind, body and spirit.
Alex adores the girl he knows as May. He suffers himself in different ways than May. Alex feels he is the cause of others pain. A dropout – he endures in silence. He sees May although he knows she feels invisible. He is no good for her though. She is not the one for him.

The night that changes May also changes Alex. A bond Is formed and in love and light the issues that debilitate both of them are taken on with the delicacy deserved. This is a moving book that will touch you. There is some fiction or events stretched potentially further than truth in order to tell a story but the underlying lines tell us of two people who overcame a wealth of trauma.

This is a wonderful read. If you need something to put your sorrows into perspective this is your book. I highly recommend Ruin. The cover is the perfect pick for this read. Absolutely beautiful and telling. Flip back to it when you are done and really SEE it. Amazing. Thank you Clarissa for the ARC. I'm honored.

Amy's 4 star ARC Review of Distrust (Smirnov Bratva, #1) by T L Smith

She was a ghost, in heels.

She was there, then she wasn’t.

She would play with my emotions like a well-played guitar.

Then she would disappear. Making me want to strangle her.

Maybe she wasn’t a ghost, maybe she was the giver of sin. Because we sinned every time we touched, every time she was near.

Her lips were shaped like a heart, deceiving you at every word.

Her body was created straight from my fantasies, one I craved to bend to my will.

Her heart, well, who the hell knew. She kept that shit locked tight.

And I couldn’t find the key.

Well Elina and Kazier what do we have here? Holy explosion heard around the world. And then boom .. she disappears driving the man insane .. you GO GIRL! Secrets are better left secrets if they destroy.

Kazier is a Russian Mob Boss – heck yeah! Ruthless his heart is stone and the man is somewhat terrifying I must say. The alpha goes way past the alp … he's the whole word. Elina is a vision and the only person who makes him feel exposed. The mystery that surrounds her is something that could destroy him.

Danger, revenge, mystery and what the junk just happened is all there. This book is written and weaves a tale on the pages that will keep you turning for more. Its extremely passionate to say the least. There were moments I wanted to scream you have go to be kidding me but I didn’t .. well I did on the inside. HA! A perfect blend of nastiness and coming for you in this one.
Grab this up if you like this type of hot smexy read with a little brutality. LOVE LOVE LOVE this one!

Thank you T.L. for the ARC! You never disappoint. Love these two characters and the depth of the writing. Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.

Amy's 4 star ARC Review of F*cker by Amo Jones

Ryker Oakley only cared about three things during school —fighting, his band, and getting laid. When he took it upon himself to ‘babysit’ Bryleigh Munroe, he didn’t expect her to be so much trouble, and he sure as shit wasn’t prepared for how fast she would grow on him. Fast-forward to eight years later, his band—Twisted Transistor—is the most successful rock group known to mankind. When his brother’s wedding brings the only girl he ever came close to caring about back into his life, he discovers something he thought they had left behind in the past, had been destroying her daily.
Bryleigh Munroe was a popular girl at school, but because her father was a politically powerful man in the San Diego region, the boys either swore away from her or were trying too hard to get with her. She wanted one night. Quick and dirty. No strings. Only she didn’t expect Ryker Oakley to flip the script on her without her even realizing. Eight years later, Bryleigh still battles with the mistakes she made when she was younger. She’s had to deal with things that she shouldn’t have had to, all on her own.
After all this time has their bond remained silent? Can she forgive the torment Ryker inflicted on her? Or will the choices they made all those years ago force them to re-unite.

This is book two in the Westbeach series, but can be read as a stand-alone.

4 stars

Bryleigh and Ryker are screwed. They can't forget about each other but are toxic for each other. Their relationship begins in highschool and is destroyed by Ryker. Bryleigh is destroyed. Moving away is the only thing that kept her sane after what she tried to do. Now she is back and seeing Ryker may be her undoing.

Fast forward back to the present. Explosive and destructive once again the two set off on a roller coaster of events. Spewing venom and lust is a hard pill to swallow and finding each other is not good for either of them. Bryleigh has a secret and if Ryker finds out he will lose his shit. Coming to her was a chance but now Ryker knows and saving her is the only answer … Bryleigh always brought out the worst in him and now he has to pay for what he has done.

His family – her family – they stand by his side but what happens when two people are the key to each others destruction. You are going to have to read this one to find out ---
I was on the floor with this one. Holy wow there is a lot going on and these two characters just simply were a wreck and I loved every minute.

Amo Jones has written a brutal story that has two strong characters that will stand their own – bring out the worst in each other but are each other’s lifeline. Thank you Amo for the read. I love the stories you bring to the table. I think I know but I don’t. You always give me a moment of “I can't believe that just happened.” -- Never fails --- Go grab this one up folks!

Amy's 5 star ARC Review of Amore Part 1 by Bella Jewel

"It is not love that defines us, Julietta. It is love that destroys us.”

I’m just a normal girl.
Or so you would think.
I’ve never thought of myself as anything different.
Until I met him.
He doesn’t think I’m normal.
He thinks I’m special.
Special enough to be in his life.
Special enough to enter his world.
Special enough for his bed.
Rafael Lencioni. Dangerous. Beautiful. Terrifying.
My story is the one that’s never told.
I’m not the daughter.
I’m not the wife.
I’m not a sister or a mother.
I'm not his enemy and I'm not his friend.
I’m not who you think I am.
So for me to fit into their world, I have to do something I never wanted in my life.
Something I would have frowned upon until I met him.
I have to change who I am.
I have to shut down my heart.
I have to accept my place.
My body belongs to him.
My heart isn’t permitted to.
Those are his rules.
But rules were made to be broken…right?

5 stars and a holy geeuz she wrote a cliffy .. and I'm dying let's just add that too.

Going out of her original writes Bella has given us a story like no other. The woman – the mistress of the mafia. The man who charms and keeps the woman – it's her side and oh lord it’s a beautiful mess.

Julietta and Rafael have a chance meeting at his club. Julietta not knowing her crazy “experience” is with the mafia king quickly finds out what she has done. Leaving and not looking back she finds the man himself sitting on her doorstep offering her a deal.

Through numerous events that include Rafael’s wife --- Julietta’s father, brothers of the mafia and a very interesting twist you will find yourself dropping the Kindle at the cliffhanger. I have never in my life wanted to be able to keep turning the pages. Bella gives us a hint that the next book is already In the hands of editors so we won't have to wait long but one day is too long.

Julietta is crafted on the pages of a woman who is hanging on. Manipulated and continuing to go back for more she can't help herself. Rafael is charming and gives her everything she needs except for what she finds she needs the most – his heart. His warning was to never fall in love – complications of all kinds have set in and Julietta has to now be the bravest she has ever been and run …..

Get this book --- now --- remember though I warned you .. there is a cliffy – and it’s a doozie.

Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath the Sheets .. Thank you Bella and hurry with the next!

Amy's 4 star ARC Review of Darkest Before Dawn by Stevie J Cole

Sixty-four days in captivity. Sixty-four days to lose yourself—or find yourself.

I’m Ava Donovan. I was abducted at the age of nineteen. I’m told I’m a survivor, but the truth is, I only survived because he saved me. Even when he kept me locked in that room—he saved me.

Constantly wondering when and how you will die, that does something to you. To your mind. But what do you do when it does something to your heart? What do you do when the man holding you captive seems just as broken as you are, when his mere presence becomes a comfort you crave—when you love him even though you shouldn’t?

You smile and tell yourself it’s okay because love has no morals.

Sixty-four days in captivity gave me a love most people will never have and my freedom took it all away.

4 stars

Well the beginning of this book is a real wham bam and I don’t mean in the smexy way. There is a gun pressed to the head of a young man and his family is bound and gagged – the boy has to choose who to kill or his entire family is killed – choosing one changes his life forever.

Twelve years later Ava and Max are still searching … His sister is missing and going underground it the only way to find her. She is a junkie so the police aren’t overly concerned. The night that changed their life forever changed her. She never recovered and neither did he but at least his life has been uncontaminated and drugs weren’t in his path. He tried to sway from crime but it was in his blood. He tried to get out but he always came back. The thrill was too much to leave behind.
Max heads into the undercover world to find his sister. Seeing things that should make him squirm he heads in not flinching … what he finds is a woman that might just be able to save him. She has been taken too – maybe they can save each other.

This is a very dark book with darker characters. Max is something of a victim but also a hardened man. His soul isn’t filled with light – it's black. This is not for the faint of heart – I have read stories that run much deeper but this is not a flouncing through the tulips story. If this is not for you then don’t pick it up – if you love excellent written characters and a plot that will keep the pages turning then grab this up. Ava and Max won't disappoint.

Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets! Thank you Stevie!

Amy's 5 star Review of Jameson (Brother's Ink #1) by Nicole James

Jameson O'Rourke owns the primo tattoo shop in town, one he's worked hard to build. And in his industry, he's the current 'it' boy, the reigning King of Ink. His career is on fire, so hot television has even come calling. And as a result, the town bad-boy has now become the town's favored son.

Ava Hightower needs his face on her flyers, if she is to have any hope of her charity gala and bachelor auction being a success. Unfortunately, they get along like oil and water. He's a hardheaded, controlling jerk, and she's already had one run-in with the man. Asking him, of all people, for help is the last thing she wants to do.

Not exactly a match made in heaven.

Jameson doesn't think too highly of Miss Hightower, either.

To him, she's just an uptight, stuck-up know-it-all; a little Miss Goody-two-shoes. Not in a million years was she the type that he'd have anything to do with. Unfortunately she is also on the city council, and therefore has the ability to screw with his business.

He needed her help once before, and she shot him down.

Now the tables are turned, and she needs his help. Well, my, my, sweetheart, karma can be a cold-hearted bitch.

But, hey, maybe he could work this to his advantage.

You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours, and all that crap.

So they cut a deal. One he has no intention of ever having to fulfill, because he plans to make it impossible for her to keep her end of it.

She thought she could outlast him. Guess again, sweet thing. She may be a stubborn woman, but she's met her match. And he has no intention of letting her win this game.

Be warned, sweetheart, because the King of Ink has plans to push your limits in ways you've never imagined.

This new series from Nicole James, author of the Evil Dead MC Series biker romance is a new addition to the bad boy romance genre with her hot, alpha, dominant men. It's bad boy romance in the tradition of Kristen Ashley, Joanna Wylde and Madeline Sheehan.

Jameson (Brothers Ink #1)
5 stars
Nicole James

I am a Nicole James fan … a gi-normous fan so when I heard there was a series coming featuring the O’Rourke brothers I couldn’t have been happier. I love The Evil Dead MC series – and this is where we meet Jameson and his brothers. Each of these books would be considered stand alones but if you want to know the background on Jameson and where we first get our glimpse of him then you need to click up Wolf. Which I will say … will leave you heartbroken for Jameson. That book sets the standard of what you need for Jameson in understanding his demeanor.

Having said this I couldn’t be more thrilled at a new series. There are books that after turning the last page you fall on your face on your bed and breathe deeply. This is one of those books. I love Cole (Evil Dead --) don’t get me wrong but the O’Rourke brothers are giving the MC a run for their money.

Ava Hightower has had the somewhat of the same path as Jameson. She herself is a successful business woman who did It for her family. Personal reasons drive the need for her charity auction to be successful this year and her sister knows that Jameson O’Rourke is the key. Already having a run in with Mr. O’Rourke at a town council meeting, Ava wants nothing to do with the man. However her sister has other plans and karma is a real fricker at times.

This was such a fantastic story. I loved the characters and I LOVED meeting each of the O’Rourke brothers. Maxwell, Liam and Rory are going to be something and I can't wait to see how the story continues for Jameson and Ava. There is some high octane tension there. No spoilers.

We are treated to an excerpt from Maxwell at the end of Jameson and it looks to be just as magnificent. Jameson flows seamlessly and there are moments of hilarity between the brothers; each with their own story to tell but genuine love between them topped with loyalty and protection.
This book is free on Kindle Unlimited and worth the click either way. I do recommended reading Wolf first but that is just me because I am needy and like to know the backstory of every character I can. You don’t have to especially if you aren’t that OCD like me. I do recommend clicking up The Evil Dead Series. You don’t want to miss out on either of this wonderful gifts!

This was not an ARC – This was simply a MUST read for me.
