My 4 star Review of Author Anonymous - A True Story by E K Blair

A TRUE STORY told through the voice of New York Times Bestselling author E.K. Blair.
*an intoxicatingly risqué stand-alone book

She’s an author.
She’s a mother.
She’s a wife.
She’s a fraud, a woman marked and bound by her own deceit.

Experience the astounding tale of how Anonymous battled through a year of scandals and betrayals, how her world fell from its axis with a single choice, and how she lost herself between reality and fantasy.

This is a stand-alone true story tangled in lust, heartbreak, and contrition.

When your best friend tells you to go read this book...well two things.  One.... you go click it up right away  or two....you think to yourself....we have extremely different tastes in books so her recommending a book to me is questionable.  Sorry, but it's true.  Either way I clicked it up and was immediately drawn to the story.  I mean from what we are being told.  It's based on a TRUE STORY.......  I had to remember that while reading.  Because this very well could have just been any fictional character.  While reading this book I can see where it will totally hit home and relate to many women.  It was full of drama.  Lies. Deceit.  Angst.  Heartache and totally swoon worthy in parts.

To read what Author Anonymous went through and her choices and decisions may not sit easy with some.  I, myself, enjoyed the story.  It's relatable, because her story could happen to any one of us.  People change.  People make mistakes.

We all go through things in life.  We handle situations differently.  Did the characters frustrate me at times... yes.  Did I hurt for them... yes.  Was I intrigued at what was unfolding in front of my eyes as I read....yes.  I am sure there are parts that were added....and most definitely changed for the story.  So, to pick out parts I didn't like would be unnecessary.  Because there were several parts I didn't connect with.... didn't see were necessary...and parts I found myself bored by.   But those parts could have just been the fictional aspects of the story to make us want to continue to read.  There were, however, many parts that I felt my heart racing and that had me stopping to text my friend.

It's definitely going to be one of those books that some will love and some will hate (due to the subject matter)  I can say that the ending was just kind of left unfinished.  I really needed more closure.  When it came to all parties involved.  To me it was like a cliffhanger of sorts.  Making me wonder if there will be a continuation.  Even though we are told it's a standalone.

All in all, I think the author did an amazing job with the writing and telling of Anonymous story.  I applaud those involved in the writing of this book.  For having the courage to put the story out there  for others to read and take away what they will from it.  People may wonder why she needed to tell her story.   We may never understand her reasons.  Maybe it was just some kind of closure for her.

I do hope that we never really find out who Anonymous is.  I can only seeing that possibly hurting her and her family in the long run.  And I can only hope that she has found what she needed in telling this story and that she is able to find happiness with whatever/whomever.
