I just seen on Author Leah Raeder's page that it's been a year since she hit publish on Unteachable.  I read this in 2013 and so I wanted to post my review on here.  If you love a teacher/student forbidden love kind of book.... Go One Click!

Here is my review  ------>

Once I one clicked and started last night I could not stop until I was done. It grabbed me. It's not the typical "mommy porn" I am accustomed to reading. This also isn't something everyone may enjoy. I fell in love with the characters.

This is the story of Maise and Evan. They meet at a carnaval/fair of all places. It all starts with this....

"You're pretty brave, sitting up front by yourself"

Maise is pretty Fucked up. Emotional baggage and a very Fucked up mother! Maise hasn't had the best life. She definitely isn't the sweet girl next door. She is very promiscuous and alone most of the time. She didn't have the best child hood. Her father abandoned them and she has a junkie for a mother.

Evan, 32 years old, has baggage of his own from his past. He falls hard and fast for Maise. Taking us on a forbidden love affair. Secrets, sneaking around, lust, love, sex. He is gentle and caring and truly wants to love her. Evan is a mystery......

After meeting Evan and the carnival and sleeping with him. Something not so new to Maise. She sleeps around with older men all the time. He wants more from her and tells her and she sneaks off after their "fuck in the car" and assumes she will never see him again.

Until a day or two later when she walks into the class room.........

"Now I know," he said, touching me again, "why I was drawn to you. We have the same darkness inside,"
"Our fucked up parents?" "Our lost childhood."

Their journey and love story is VERY complicated and by no means perfect. Even though Maise is 18 and of age.... this is a forbidden love affair. They bring out the best in each other. Is that enough?

"You can call it love. Or you can call it freefall. They're pretty much the same thing."

We go through this story watching the two of them struggle with their relationship and with Maise dealing with her dead beat drug dealer of a mother. The secrets eventually come out. Can their love for one another survive?

"Don't be afraid," Evan said. "We're in this together, hand in hand, against the world"

I gave this 4.5 stars. It leaves us with an ending that could be considered a cliffhanger or she could just be leaving us with that ending for us to use our own imaginations..... I pray it is just the beginning of their journey together. I want more of their story.
