Love’s Taming is a suspense filled roller coaster ride of romance and high action! Throw in a few hot bodied detectives --- YEP that’s my kind of book! Im rolling this one out with 4 stars. Annie is a small town vet who was taken under a older vet wing for him to mentor. When he passed away she was surprise to find that he had left the practice and the apartment above to her. The woman is a vet with a heart of gold. She doesn’t date, she adores her two closest friends and co workers and simply she doesn't turn patients away even when she thinks you can't pay. Struggling to keep the practice, pay off her student loans while also keeping her two best friends Suzanne and Leon employed at her hands doesn’t leave much time for her to do anything else. Annie loves being a vet. It’s all that she has every wanted to do far as she is concerned there is no backup plan. Suzanne and Leon adore Annie right back but wish the girl would cut loose and have some fun every now and then. Annie throws caution to the wind for one night leading her into a whirlwind of drugs and murder. Stoney (Shane) has been deep undercover for two years trying to crack a drug ring that involves shipping drugs in dogs, until they force his dog to become one of the “carriers” to prove his loyalty. He was watching Annie for other reasons and now finds himself needing her help in order to save his dog. After Annie with the help of Stoney save his dog Sarge, Annie throws caution to the wind and has her one night stand in the clinic with this dark eyed man. However, Shane falls head over heels for Annie and is not letting anything stand in his way and is ready to leave the force if it means he can have that piece of sunshine that has pulled him out of the dark that he has been living in for the past 2 years. You will need to one click to find out the roller coaster ride this two go on. We are introduced to more characters along the way including Matt; Stoney’s partner who has a past of his own. Stoney or Shane as we come to know him isn’t the only one that has suffered while he was undercover those two years. We dip a small bit into the back story but not much. Hopefully the next book tells us more. There is no cliff hanger but I look forward to reading the next and the next and the next!
