Wrapped Around Him by Debra Kayn

I received a copy of this as an ARC for an honest review.

I was torn with writing this review.   So I can only rate it 3.5 - 4.  For the first half of the book I was a little bored and I hate to say that.  I was struggling to continue and to not DNF it.   And my reasons for this is simply I was bored.    I was having a really hard time connecting with the characters in the beginning and it was just moving too slow for me.  It was lacking the "ooomph" I love in MC books.  I mean don't get me wrong... I did not HATE the book... I personally just needed more.

I was definitely not what I was expecting when I started to read it.  I like the fast paced....edge of my seat.... club whores.... drama...... and this didn't have that.  I kept waiting for something Major to happen and yet nothing ever did.   Everytime Cam would leave and say "don't let anyone in the house" I would think .... okay HERE WE GO!  =(

I enjoyed how Christina "mothered" Jeremy - Cam's son.  How she was protective of him and was always looking out for what she thought was in his best interest.  I didn't enjoy how Christina was taken and told to quit her job which was the reason she was introduced to Cam in the first place.  (social worker)  I felt all that could have held more drama and excitement.   I felt that although she had been dealt a lot in her life and was independent that she could have been a stronger lead female.  She should have had more sass and told him to stick all his rules up his ass.  She should have "Fought" back and not sat back so timid.

I enjoyed the correspondence between Cam and Christina in the beginning while he was in prison, when she thought he was just Prisoner #18794.   I thought the idea of him being a convict was different than most MC books.   Cam did redeem himself a tad towards the end of the book.  I wouldn't say he has won my heart completely just yet.  I still find him to be selfish most times.

I opened up to the idea of them being together as a couple - even after the way she came to live with Cam.  I ended up rooting for them as a couple.    The small twists here and there didn't play out to there fullest in this book.  Maybe they will in book two.

I will finish the series.....I am curious to see where their story takes them and how it ends.
