Amy's 4 star ARC review of SEAL Brotherhood: Lucas (Band of Bachelors, #1) by Sharon Hamilton

Full length novel, over 250 pages with bonus material.

Special Operator Lucas Shipley thought his troubles were past him, when he discovers they've only just begun. Recently separated from his wife of five years, he gets some unwelcomed news. He thought his living arrangement, with four other separated or divorced buddies from SEAL Team 3, was temporary. Now, he understands he has to move on with his life.

Marcy Gelland is one of the smartest, most successful realtors in San Diego County. She's hired by Lucas' soon-to-be ex-wife to help her liquidate their joint holdings and help orchestrate a speedy departure from Lucas' life. Based on what Marcy's been told, Lucas deserves any amount of pain she or her client can dish out to him.

But when they are left alone together in the remote Northern California woods, they ignite a personal bonfire that threatens to burn down the whole forest. Marcy is forced to see she has been misled.

Amidst the backdrop of hardened bachelor SEALs with their unsolicited, anti-long- term relationship advice, and a criminal gang operating nearby, Lucas must do what he's always done and never gotten proper credit for: be the hero that saves the day.

4 stars

This is a very quick read but decent story. A little rushed but Im keeping it. The men are SEALS .. come on who wouldn’t keep it?
Never mess with a woman scorned people .. unless you are Marcy. LOVE IT! Lucas thought his situation was temporary, living apart from his wife and daughter, but found out quickly he was staying. Connie, his wife, was a witch .. OMG … just two sentences in the book about broke me. Lucas recounts his 3 year old daughter sobbing into his wife’s legs while Wifey Dearest doesn’t welcome him home. GAH! WITCH!

Marcy Gelland comes in the line of fire when she is hired by Connie to liquidate the joint holdings in the marriage. Connie fills her head with nonsense that Lucas is a predator and is unfeeling. Marcy guards herself until an unfortunate or fortunate event occurs keeping Lucas and she together.

There were some pretty realistic situations here between Connie and Lucas. Dang I have seen this before for sure being married to a Special Ops guy myself. Anyone who knows a military man knows emotions are guarded and always in check. That is how you survive away from home. In the end, women are vicious. LORD! -- You need to know what you are signing up for. I wanted to punch Connie repeatedly …. Yup!

This was a good easy read and the cover -- based on that alone you have a preconceived "stupid stamp" on the soon to be ex-wife's head .. LOL! Yes I attached the cover models to the characters. There was some great banter between friends … more SEALS who Im sure we will hear from again! There are four! YAY! There is also action in this book and Lucas needs to become the protector which is just yummy to think about.

Click this one up for a nasty witch read. I was provided and ARC for an honest review. Review to post on Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets. Thanks Sharon for the chance to read!
