Amy's 5 star ARC Review of Spike (3.5 The Beat and The Pulse) by Amity Cross

Renee “Ren" Miller finally has everything she ever dreamed of.
For the first time in her life, everything is perfect and she doesn’t want to change a thing.
Ash “Maverick” Fuller can’t help but feel that something is missing from his life, even with the woman he loves by his side.
His business is flourishing, his woman is content and he should be happy too right? Wrong.
Ren can sense something isn’t right and tries to reach out. Secrets are a deal breaker and if she can’t get through to him, it might just be thing that tears their perfect little world apart.
Ash would do anything to protect her from harm, but sometimes even the people you love the most have secrets and shame that they want to bury forever.
This time, trust mightn’t be enough

5 stars

Oh yeah they are back! Ren and Ash. BOOM! But let me tell you I thought I was going to have to go find Amity and join her characters holding her hostage because uh hell to the no. I might still go just to say “don’t do that again.” ….

Ren and Ash are in the midst of finishing the perfect apartment above Pulse. After six months the business was going through the roof yet our man Ash isn’t satisfied. Something is missing and whats missing is a ring on Ren’s finger. Is it that easy …. Of course not. Insert here emotions of hell, fury and oh shit you are kidding me. Are you kidding me? Really?

We also have the pleasure of getting a little more of Josie, Hamish, Seth, a touch of Violet, Cole and Ryan which makes me sooooo happy! I cant wait to get books about all of these folks. HINT! HINT!

But the big kicker – Caleb Carmichael – go away! Caleb has been hired by Ren’s father as the new manager of Beat. Andrew Miller (Ren’s dad) and Caleb’s father were rivals back in the day. Caleb used to be a pro boxer but had suffered one blow too many and now was out; not allowed to fight again. Beat was his new home.

That’s it – that’s all you are getting. Oh and … you wont believe who shows up in Chapter Ten. If you think your heart was broken for Ash Fuller before you haven’t seen or heard anything yet. Good luck not throwing your reader. In fact put some duct tape around it and attach it to your person so when you do go to chunk it across the room it sticks to you instead because you are going to want to finish #3.5.

Amity you blow me away. Not only was this a fantastic addition but we also are gifted a look at her new adventure “L is for Luminous.” I will be getting my hands on this book in January; you can bet on it.

I received an ARC for an honest review. Review to post on Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets. Thank you once again Amity for a brilliant story and the honor of being one of the first to have my head in the pages!
