Amy's 3.5 star ARC review of Game On by Katie McCoy

Rule of reporting 101-- don't bang your subject.

Sophie Hall has just gotten the opportunity of a lifetime--to profile Nathan Ryder, the hottest baseball player since A-Rod, for her first solo assignment as a reporter. Rumor has it Nathan is going to be drafted to the Major league, and yet he still fits an intense training regime around volunteering at a animal shelter. He's a prodigy with a heart of gold, as American as apple pie and has an ass that deserves a trophy all its own. He may be the country's heartthrob, but Sophie isn't going to fall for that. She just has to remain objective and cover the story.

But she didn't bet on Nathan's gorgeous green eyes or the way his arms flex with muscle when he's holding a bat. And she certainly didn't think he'd be witty and smart and caring. Nathan is completely untouchable, but she can't help it if those lingering gazes turn into something more. How could she not fall at the thought of the hottest guy she's ever met devoting his limited free time to saving puppies?

When Sophie's scoop turns into Nathan's scandal, Nathan needs her more than ever. With both of their careers on the line will they strike out - or hit a home run?

3.5 stars

Sophie Hall is a 23 year old reporter who has landed an epic assignment; she is interviewing Nathan Ryder. The Nathan Ryder who avoids the press and keeps to himself; the same Nathan Ryder she met unexpectedly, the same Nathan Ryder who overheard her ass of a boyfriend dump her over the phone.

Nathan is the next best thing up and coming in baseball. He is a college senior ready to go to the majors. The only difference with Nathan is that he doesn’t want the spotlight … he is private. Nathan is a inspirational character as we wish our professional players would be more like him in real life. Yes there are a few but if we had more like Nathan entertaining us the game would be even better. a smooth but reserved guy with a passion and talent for baseball.

Sophie and Nathan are written realistically which I love of course. Sophie is strong and can hold her own but has some confidence issues. The interview is somewhat funny as Nathan digs himself in a little deep with some things. The story is good and flows quite well. Its sweet to say the least and keeps the pages turning. There are some “whoa” times that caught me off guard as the two characters were so innocent in their ways with each other, bantering and them all of a sudden some X rated words were spewing out of their mouths.

It’s a good read. I received an ARC for an honest review. Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets. Thanks Katie for the chance to read!
