Raylin is on the run. Her father’s associates will stop at nothing to claim the money he owes them—including killing her. A last ditch ticket to Florida, a temporary house to hide in and no future to look forward to. That is, until she meets Storm, a tattooed bad boy who is housesitting down the beach and doing repairs for the summer.
A perfect place, a perfect pair of strong arms, a spot of calm in which to hide for a while—or is it? Drop-dead gorgeous, kind, and hot in bed, Storm may not be what he seems.
Who is the real Storm, and what is he hiding? Raylin had better find out before the bullets begin to fly.
Standalone novel. No cliffhanger.

Ok .. so … Its hard for me when I do a little research and find out a book is a spin off or part of a series that I haven’t had the pleasure of reading. That also seems to affect my rating some as I feel that I never know the entire story of the characters involved. However I was assured this was not the case in Storm; the first book in the Sex and Bullets series. I did wonder more about Megan and Rafe but again that’s from a different series of Jo’s.
Diving into this first book we have a lot of suspense, numerous lies and a whole lot of attraction. I did find it very interesting that the lead female; Raylin was so young as in 19 years young. Strom was not that old himself; only 21. Honestly it made me feel sorry for the characters and then hand that life had dealt the both of them.
Raylin is on the run and has been for over two years. Storm is hiding from his life. Both aren’t looking for anything but when they explode together … watch out. This was certainly a love affair with bullets and danger flying through the pages. The web of lies gets stickier and bigger as you move through the pages. There is a lot going on in both these characters lives. I seriously wanted to punch both of their families. However I will say Hawk and Rook are back on my good side. I did get a little confused towards the end as there was so much going on but after going back and reading more carefully things were more clear. We also are introduced to Rook and Hawk. Hawk has some interesting things going on in his life and he is our next story in the series. I will be watching for that release for sure.
This was a really good read. I would have liked more information and more depth to who exactly a certain group of men were but I wont spoil that for you as a reader. I look forward to reading more from Jo Raven! Thank you for the ARC!
