Amy's 3.5 star ARC Review of A Lighter Shade of Blue (Kings Of Chaos Book # 2) by Shyla Colt

Assigned the role of keeper of her older sister, Calla, Bluebell Strong has spent her life cleaning up messes. Frustrated, unappreciated, and repressed, Blue drifts away from her family. Suddenly, a jail sentence lands Calla in prison. She then becomes her nephew, Bolton’s guardian. Pulled headfirst back into the life of the Kings of Chaos M.C. she struggles to find a balance between who she must be and who she’s always wanted to be. Bolton’s father, Shadow, the man she crushed on since she was a teen, returns from prison. These back to back events forces her to choose between duty and happiness.

After serving three years in jail for a brother, Kings of Chaos enforcer, Shadow is done denying himself. The silent man, known for making problems disappear spent years holding onto a secret that kept him from the one thing he wants most, Blue. Beneath the hardened exterior of this Warrior, rests a heart that beats for one woman. Laying all his cards on the table, he risks upsetting the balance among the Strongs and the club to complete the family he always wanted.

3.5 stars

Bluebell strong has been the good girl while her sister has been the bad. This time her father isn’t bailing her out. Frustrated at the hand she has been dealt finally enough is enough. She will take care of Bolten. Blue had tried to escape the MC but now with Calla in jail doing time she has to go back and take care of her nephew. Bolton’s father has always been the love of Blue’s life but Calla ruined that as well. She went after him and he didn’t shy away; or so it seems.

Shadow has done his time and he is going after Blue whether she wants him or not. They will be living under the same roof raising his son. Bolton has only known one mother and that wasn’t Calla his real mom; its been Blue. What Calla did all those years ago ruined him. The truth will come out and Blue will be his. He’s done trying to make things work because the only person he wants is the beautiful woman he let go or couldn’t have.

This book just stopped. There is a tragedy at the end and I kept trying to turn more pages and they weren’t there. I don’t know if its supposed to be a cliffhanger or not but I'm pretty sure its not. Bummer for this reader because the story line is and was a keeper.
