"I'm protecting her from the people who hired me to get rid of her." - Sean
Relationships can still work if they begin with lies, can't they? Big, fat fucking lies spoken by a man with the perfect... everything.
I have a hunch he's being untruthful, yet I trust him.
I need time to think, yet I cannot stay away from him.
This is despite all the secrets he's kept.
Despite all the lies he's told.
Because in the end, I trust him. Not only with my but also with my son's lives. It's that simple. Some people are worthy of that kind of faith and others not. I just hope I made the right decision to trust him. Otherwise, with a fifty-million dollar target on my back, I may as well dig my own grave.
4 stars
Perfectly Seduced is the follow up to the short prequel Perfectly Equipped. Both books are faced paced and easy reads.
Sean Marks is our leading guy and one that cant seem to be trusted. He has lied more than once and his secrets run deep. Sean is a single parent just like April. He is a great father for sure but the rest of his story is somewhat blurry.
April Davis is a strong independent single parent herself. I did love the fact that she was portrayed and written as STRONG. Upon meeting Sean she knows she cant trust him. She hasn’t heard from him since they met in Hawaii while on vacation with her friend Millie. April has been through the ringer it seems after her husbands death. She needs to let go … or at least that is what Millie tells her.
Both Sean and April are shady but you know I love that. April’s secrets run deep through the questions concerning the death of her husband and what really happened the day he died. What?!?!? Yeah you know it …. Sean well why is he so bound and determined to be with April and what is his motive? Just a little hint …. Shady ass Sean isn’t telling the truth about his job, his life, or why he is throwing on his energy onto April. I mean she does have a hefty target on her back that includes a large payout.
This is not a bad read. You have romance, suspense and lots of questions swirling all around the pages. You will love the kiddos written into this story which again is great. This was my first read by Lacey and it was a pleasure. Click it on up but snatch up Perfectly Equipped first.
I received an ARC for an honest review. Thank you Lacey!
