I don't know why I hadn't read this book sooner. Holy Shit was it good! 5 stars.
This story is told in Dual POV by Jaeger (Prez of the Hunters MC) and Phoenix aka "Nix" or "Red" (which she hates). I enjoy a dual POV story.
The way they "officially" meet is under circumstances that are a result of a shit storm her father left her with. Phoenix is then thrown into a world of bikers - with one HOT Alpha male - with absolutely no say in the decisions being made for her. Her life is basically uprooted and changed forever.
When it comes to Nix it was a "love at first sight" kind of thing for Jaeger. However, he is completely clueless when it comes to women. He is used to the club whores. It was probably more "lust at first sight" since all he can talk about is having sex with her.
Nix did not return that endearment towards Jaeger. She found him to be Arrogant, Selfish, Controlling, Cocky and and Asshole. And he finds Nix to be a stubborn, spoiled, sassy, hardheaded, argumentative feisty brat with no filter. They can say they don't like each other's personalities but each time they open their mouths to speak it turns the other on. Even though she didn't find herself falling for him at first, the more time she spends around him - and the more she tries to push him away - it becomes a moth to a flame situation. There is a strong pull and once she gets sucked in..... yeah....... hold on for the ride of a lifetime! I loved how Nix had Jaeger by the balls. He was so "whipped" when it came to her. Don't let him hear me say that though. Haha!
The two of these characters deal with a lot of drama during the story. Jaeger has sworn to always protect Nix. When things her father was involved in before his death surfaces - a shit storm happens. About 70 % into the book a BIG Plot Twist! I was at the edge of my seat. It was intense and angsty. Filthy, Gritty and Raw! Unexpected!
The chemistry is HOT! I'm talking panty melting HOT! And the banter between these two is what will make you love them more. Their relationship developed FAST and was quite dysfunctional. With that being said. - I want to point out one thing I didn't care for when it came to Jaeger - With him it was all physical and there was really no emotion at all. No real conversations were ever had between these two. Just sex 24/7. But - I did enjoy watching their relationship develop. They clash, yet they fit together.
This book kept me entertained and interested from the beginning. I just had to know what was going to happen once everything started to fall apart. The Rival MC's and the wars between them brought some major drama into the story. It was filled with interesting characters and I especially hope eventually the author will give us a story about Sarge. Jaeger, although, I hated his lack of emotion or ability to have a conversation that didn't focus on sex, was the reason I loved this book. There was something about him that made me rank this one at the top of my MC book reads.
I would most definately recommend this book to anyone who loves an Awesome MC read! Great job!
