Widowed young, Maisie Mann was left to raise her daughter alone. Now, nine years later, she thinks she might have life as a single mom mastered…until her car breaks down on the wrong side of town. All she requires is a little roadside assistance and she’ll be on her way. But when her help comes in the form of a gruff but alluring biker, it sparks emotions she hasn’t experienced since her husband died.
Connor ‘Hatch’ Wallace is nobody’s hero. The Sergeant-at-Arms for the Dogs of Fire MC has a bitter past and has sworn off anyone threatening his independence. But fate has other ideas.
Maisie has no intention of getting involved with a man like Hatch and, despite her overwhelming attraction to him, pushes him away… until her life, and that of her child, are threatened.
Is Maisie’s only chance of survival in the hands of a badass biker?
Will Hatch be able to put aside his past and protect a woman and her daughter at the risk of losing everything?

I have noticed that this is a series which can be read as a standalone which I did. I have not read any of the other books but I would love to and plan and clicking them up putting them on my TBR list. I received Road to Peace as an ARC.
Hatch is the SGT at Arms of the Dogs of Fire MC. The man has been wounded by a crappy marriage and didn’t deserve that due to the life he had already lived. Raising his brothers and sister, Hatch wanted a family that meant something .. instead he got a bitch. Getting what he needed in the sack and then shooing them away he never thought another woman would catch his eye. But then Maisie came into his life by chance. Her car breaking down was the best thing that have ever happened to him.
Maisie took a chance walking over to the small garage in a not so great part of town. Unknowing to her she walked right into her knight in shining armor as she would later find out. After numerous events that will leave you hitting the floor, Hatch swears on his life he will keep Poppy and Maisie safe. Even after the woman blew him off he vows to protect her and her daughter.
I really liked the story and was darn certain crazy things were going to happen. The characters were well written. There is a nice little ditty at the end as well leading into Maverick and Lily’s story. That should be a good one.
Thank you for the ARC! Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.
