Amy's 5 star ARC Review of Wide Open Spaces (Shooting Stars #2) by Aurora Rose Reynolds

That moment your life changes.
That moment that changes your life.
That moment you love someone more than you love yourself.
That was the moment we gave our son up for adoption and the moment I was left bare. A wide-open space that would forever be empty.
There are moments that define you as a person, moments that prove just how strong you are, moments you push yourself to keep going forward when all you really want to do is give up. It was in one of those moments when I reached out and found him waiting for me.

When Shelby Calder left home fifteen years ago, she never planned on returning to the Alaskan town she left behind. But after the death of her grandfather and a bitter divorce, she hopes going home will be a fresh start for her and her ten-year-old son.

Zach Watters has made a lot of mistakes in his life. But when he sees Shelby Calder, looking more beautiful than ever, standing outside her childhood home, he promises himself that letting her go won't be a mistake he ever makes again.

Some things never change and love is one of them.

5 stars

We met these two characters in Fighting to Breathe and I wondered about them. Now we know. Just wow ... Aurora has written a story that is absolutely breathtaking. This is extremely emotional and one you don't want to miss.

When Shelby Calder left home fifteen years ago, she never planned on returning to the Alaskan town she left behind. The reasons she left was to start over -- forget -- to bury her past. But after the death of her grandfather and a bitter divorce, she hopes going home will be a fresh start for her and her ten-year-old son Hunter. Maybe dragging her son what seems like a million miles away from his father wasn't the best idea but staying where Max could continue to control her wasn't an option either. Coming back home means facing things she left behind. Shel didn't think that facing those things would happen the minute she arrived.

Zach Watters has never loved another woman. When Shelby left he plummeted into a deep depression filled with drugs and alcohol. He tried to fill her memory with others but it never worked. One night turned into more than he bargained for but being the man he is and fighting the past he tried his best. Never did he imagine he would get another chance with the woman he has loved for his entire heart but there she is ... staring him in the face in the house right next to his.

This is a fantastic story about doing what is best -- breaking each other's hearts and piecing them back together. I couldn't take my eyes from the pages and flipped until there were no more to flip. What a story written from the heart. BRAVO --- This book can be read as a standalone but I would encourage you to go grab up Fighting to Breathe. This "series" just keeps getting better and better. How do I know ... well ......

We also get a sneak peek into the last book which is going to be a killer on your feels. I don't know when it's coming but I'm going to need to prepare. Holy Aubrey ....

Thank you for the ARC -- I couldn't be more honored to read a magnificent story. Thank you for allowing me to do so. Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.
