Today's Author Interview - S K Logsdon

I became instant friends with S K after reading her Stricken series and Private Messaging her.  I.WAS.IN.LOVE.WITH.THAT.BOOK and she needed to know..... An instant friendship blossomed and it's like we were destined to become friends.   She took the time to answer some interview questions for all of us to read..... Hope you enjoy getting to know her - through some questions I threw her way.  Make sure you one click her author page and of course....ONE CLICK HER BOOKS!  They are AMAZING!  <3

Would you like to introduce yourself with a short bio?  Things that we don’t know about you maybe?

Basics-
I’m 28, Mother of 3 daughters, Step mom of 3. I live in NW Ohio.

Are there any topics that you won't write about?

This is an interesting Question- I can honestly say only stuff like child rape/abuse or true incest would shy me away. The rest is seemingly fair game. Even the dark stuff like rape itself or abuse (As long as a child isn’t involved.) I would write about it. It can be dark but intriguing.

Are any of the situations, scenes or characters based on your life or events in your life? If so, can you elaborate any?  =)

Not so much as scenes but little things in my books. For instance in both my Stricken and Attraction series there is a big age gap between some of the lovers. My boyfriend and I are 14 years apart.
The part at the end of Stricken Trust about administering Penis-cilin. (wink wink) – Is actually something my boyfriend tells me ALL of the time when I’m feeling ill. He swears it’s the cure for everything, when I’m sick. LOL.
A lot of what my characters like, especially Emily, are what I like in person. For instance Emily wears Strawberries and Champagne body spray- That’s what I wear, She Loves Friends the TV Show, watched WWF growing up and idolizing the Rock. – All of those things are me.

How has your life changed since your debut novel?

Changed hum…Not much… It makes me want to write more because the response has been pleasant, very sweet and supportive. My goal even though small was to sell 300 copies of Stricken Desire the first month. (I know it’s small but I honestly know of many authors who are lucky to sell 25 a month.)
But when I hit more than double my goal I was ecstatic! To say the least.

How did you name your characters?

To be honest I don’t really know. I try to pick names that make people love them.  I can’t see myself loving a gay bff named Moose or something--- Stacy seemed to fit and it just came. So Stacy it was.
The thing I think some people might find a little different and I will continue with the tradition- In EVERY single one of my series a form of the name Anne/Anna will be present.
The Circle of Blood Series- Annabelle is the main Character
Stricken Rock- Anna is Emily’s Asshole—LMAO--- I know, I know that sounds completely strange and when I thought of it I laughed and I literally almost fell on the floor. But it somehow fits. It makes the strangeness of her Lesbianism seem more personal and less dirty.
Attraction Series- Anne is Becka’s Escort name.
Now- I will just have to come up with different creative ways to use forms of this in the future. Lol….

What made you write The Stricken series or the Artful Attraction series?

I started out writing a Vampire series first- It’s not great but it’s still good for being my first series. I had an elaborate dream about what I wanted to write and so I did. Then I read 50 Shades of Grey (I was way late to read that.) I always read supernatural stuff before now (J.R Ward, Charlaine Harris.). Then I popped off and read Michelle Valentines Rock Series and the thoughts just started to flow. That’s how Stricken Rock Series came about. But I wanted it to be more dramatic and less predictable than many series that are out there. I found a niche that I never knew I’d be good in writing- Romance Erotica.
Artful Attraction (the Attraction series)- Came about when I was perusing the Stock Free Photos for my covers and saw this woman that just screamed Escort and somehow it clicked. I’ve never read an Escort Book to this day- Except mine. I just loved the idea.

If you could spend one day with any one of your characters…who would you chose and why?  (I know who I would choose from your books)

Spend a day with? Hum…. I’d have to say Deacon--- I Love all of my characters- But he’s completely off the wall and something tells me he’d have me busy and I’d learn all sort of interesting things.
A Day would NEVER be enough time with James, Johnathan or Brad.

Is there anything that is a MUST while you are writing…superstitions etc?

Not particularly but I prefer my favorite place in the entire world to write. Which is my BED! I LOVE my bed. It’s comforting.

3 things your readers do not know about you.

1.    I am one of the most giving people, ever. I seriously feel guilty if I don’t get everybody in my family something for Christmas. I get so much pleasure out of GIVING I could care less to receive. Although I do like that too.
2.    I do cake decorating as a hobby and before my daughter Kylie was born when I was 18 – I was set to attend Culinary School.
3.    I am strangely close with my mom. We are more like girlfriends --- But we are very close. After years of issues and problems--- Somehow it’s finally clicked and I’m glad to be close to my mom…. My mother moved away when I was young… We still kept in contact and I saw her a month in the summer and at Christmas. I lived with my dad during that time and we were very close but he died when I was 15 in a car accident. So now it’s just me and my mom. (Since I’m an only child.)

Would you rather have the power to be invisible or read minds?

Option C. Neither- Telepathy would be a burden and men’s minds would consist of SEX and women’s would be constant worry and going 500 mph. I’d rather not tap into any of that.
Invisible would be interesting but I’d not like to be the preverbal fly on the wall.

If you won the lotto tomorrow, what is the first thing you would do.

Depends on how much money. But I am a stickler for savings. So college funds, high yield low risk investments. Etc… I not one to spend much money on myself. Although I would probably buy myself a new Black Fuel Efficient Suburban and have pink flames painted on my hood like my truck now.

What draws you to write in this genre…. =)

I’m fairly good at it… and who wouldn’t love to write about sex, drama and romance? It’s like making a movie for somebodies brain. What’s NOT to love?

What was the hardest thing about your latest book?

I chose to write 2 series simultaneously and it’s soooo damn difficult I will NEVER do that again!
It’s also hard to decide how I want Emily to end up. It’s like letting go of a person who’s become a very close friend. It’s very bitter sweet.

Do you have a hardest scene you had to write? If so, can you explain?

The airplane scene in Stricken Unveiled- I literally cried for Emily in that one. It’s just as emotional to be writing as it is reading and sometimes more so….Also, the first scene of Stricken Resolve that I’ve come to write so far had be bawling like a baby 2 times already.
I’m a woman and very expressive in my emotions. So I’ve yelled at my own book when I’m writing…example- When Johnathan pisses me off like seriously off the wall angry. I yell at him. “Why do you have to be such a douche?!”
Or Laugh- like the first scene in Stricken Desire where Emily lets Johnathan have it. I laughed so hard I had tears rolling down my face.

Would you want to be involved with one of your characters in real life?  If so, who and why?

Okay, I can’t pick one. To be honest nobody has met him yet because I haven’t published this but Jackson from my Circle of blood series is seriously somebody I’d marry. Lol…and he’s a vampire. A hot hot hot one. Lol…He’s also very interesting.
Also, as much as some people are mad about James coming more into the forefront of Stricken Rock series. I’d say James. He’s another man I’d marry myself. He’s flipping hot and sweet too boot. He is a man everybody wishes they could have. I know we all love to read about domineering strong men. But James is strong without being pushy. He’s patient and kind. (Shit I’m about to go off quoting Corinthians poem.) But he fits it well.
I also love Brad- too --- Shit, I dunno, I can’t pick.

Are you a morning person or a night owl?

Night owl to the CORE! I’m a stay up until 6am’er then get a few hours of Zzzz’s and do it all over again. I catch up on my sleep on the weekend.

Do you have any pet peeves?

Yes, don’t do something to others you wouldn’t be okay with having done to yourself.

What does the color RED make you think of?

Red? Periods…. That was first thought.

Fill in the blanks…

I am really awesome at Cooking

I am really embarrassed to admit __I like to write and read about anal sex in books (it’s mildly taboo) but I won’t allow myself to partake in my personal life. (TMI? Maybe… But it’s the damn truth.)

The last great book I read was _To be honest I’ve read a lot of GREAT books but when I think of this ONLY one book comes to mind—Dark Citadel by Charise Sinclair --- I LOVE The series and that was my favorite of them so far.

My favorite book boyfriend is _
_WRATH!! From BDB and why--I fell in love with him from Dark Lover and I wanted to fall for a different brother along the way. I truly Love V as well… and at one point in time tried to convince myself to like him more. But in my heart of hearts Wrath is the Hellren for me… LMAO!
I also love the men from my series and MASTER DAN!

So there it is.....I hope you will go one click and fall in love with this amazing ladies books as much as I did......
