Amy's 5 star ARC Review of Low by Mary Elizabeth

It’s hard living on the wrong side of the tracks.

Lowen Seely has a criminal record to prove it. Determined not to follow in his father’s footsteps, he fights instinct and tries honesty. But hunger becomes painful, and bills are due. Forced to choose between what is right and wrong, the boy from the hood learns abiding by the rules is nearly impossible when corruption is in your blood.

Falling for an outlaw has changed everything.

Poesy Ashby is the definition of ride or die, even when it means turning her back on freedom. The girl from the suburbs gives conformity the middle finger. Bonnie and Clyde have nothing on her love story.

On the run with consequences in the rearview mirror, Lowen and Poesy accept the truth: they are the bad guys.

But can they get away with their crimes?

Holy Beezesus – what in the world? WOW – Lowen Joshua Seely … dang!

Low has been thrown into the life of breaking the law. His family – well he will give them something better even if it comes from criminal acts --- his father has set his future into motion simply because of who he was. Protecting his family comes at a great cost. It doesn’t matter how he feels about the crimes he commits. If what he has to do is to keep his family safe then he will do it even if it breaks him. Protecting Poesy at any cost .. not a question and never will be. The woman loves him for him. She doesn’t care what he does or what society sees him as. She knows who he is and still gives him her heart.

Poesy will never leave Low. He is her light. He is her everything. If breaking every law out there gives them a better chance at survival and a better life then so be it. The struggle in both of their lives seems so real and will pull you into the pages rooting for them.

This story is the story that is going to make you say that breaking the law is okay. You become so intermixed with these two characters you will be encouraging them to do what they do. Both characters are desperately trying to break the circle and do what is right but the cards aren’t falling in their favor. You will be holding your breath through the roller coaster ride as you turn the pages. Don’t feel bad that you are yelling for the “societal pegged bad guys” here friends. I get it .. I did the same thing! A happily ever after? I don’t know .. you tell me after you read it. ZOWIE!

Thank you for the ARC Mary. This was a heart pounder – Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.
