Amy's 4.5 star review of Climax by Sexxa Kohl

Synopsis

If you’d asked me what I thought I’d be doing at twenty-two, it certainly wouldn’t be taking my clothes off for complete strangers. The world sees me as a whore and a worthless piece of trash. No one would ever believe that I am still a virgin, waiting to find love. I think I can easily say that I don’t think love is ever going to be finding me at Club Climax.
I give the crowd what they want. For the next three and a half minutes, I dance, undress, shake my ass, and slide up and down the metal pole, in front of me I am in complete control while I am up here on this stage. The dancers make the rules at this place. That is except for the room in the far back, known as Ultimate Climax. It is the one place where all power is surrendered; the one place in this club that I said I’d never go, no matter how desperate I got. The price is just too high for me, and I refuse to sell myself to the highest bidder. I cannot afford to lose the only thing I have left… My control.
But sometimes, the day comes when we have to do the things that we said we would never do. For me, that day is here.
I take a deep breath, grab the door handle, and know that once I walk through that door, my whole life will forever change.
Little did I know just how much it actually would.

4.5 stars
Climax is a fantastic debut novel by Sexxa Kohl. Blaire Michaels is a 22 year old virgin who strips. Why? -- She pays her mother’s medical bills. A mother who she would do almost anything to make sure she had what she needed. Everything Blaire does is for her. Her mom is all she has left. The underlying preface to this story is so emotional that you find yourself empowered by Blaire. The sacrifices she makes for the woman who gave her all she could is simply the most beautiful love between a mother and her child.
Known as Raven at the club she is highly respected by all of her co workers. She refuses to do anything but strip. There is no touching and definitely no subjection to the Ultimate Climax Room where her counterparts make top dollar for doing lord knows what. Blair refuses and her girlfriends at the club respect her choice. Blair works at Climax because it’s the best way to care for her mother and to obtain the money needed to even try to give her a fighting chance at living. It’s a touching story of an individual choosing to sacrifice herself for the sake of her mother. Blaire knows in her heart she will never step foot into that forsaken room at Climax no matter what the price and no matter what she needs for her mom. She wont let that part of her be taken by a stranger … until she sees those eyes; the eyes that bore into her and through her. No matter what she has to shake away whatever she is feeling and no matter what the offer she cannot allow herself to lose that one shred of herself that she can still control.
Enter Jaxxon. What is it with this name in stories? The man is hawt. But … oh yes there is always a but … he is far from innocent, he is arrogant, closed off emotionally but always and I mean always gets what he wants. What he wants is the girl named Raven. Jaxxon is richer and more powerful than anyone can imagine. He has already lost his soul several times over. He is a man with dark needs and desires. Jaxxon wont belittle himself to apologize for his attitude nor for the manner in which he attains whatever it is he wants. There are more powerful words out there for being controlling and the upmost of supremacy. Whatever they are; attach them to Jaxxon. Oh Raven – yes she can refuse him all she wants; let her play her little game but he will have her in that forbidden room and it will be soon.
This book is one little scandalous nasty read. BRAVO! Underneath the gritty sexy time is also a heartfelt story of a mother and daughters love for each other. I will take it Ms. Sexxa! Love it and love this unconventional romance. This book is a standalone.
The second book in this series; Dominate was just released July 6th. I have not read it yet but its on my TBR.
