Ok .. first of all do not be fooled by the sweet looking covers and you should know that is what Im using as my defense for clicking up these books. NEVER did I imagine that I was entering into the most crazy story line of blackmail, murder, deception and loads of sexy time. These characters aren’t psycho they are just plain ass cray – cray.
Lara Pierce and Jackson Kinsley are THE couple. However you quickly realize that Jackson is more than just your average douche bag he is one crazy ass, arrogant cheating prick. What a piece of lying shit … and that is exactly what kept me reading .. well along with his brother Jake. This is definitely a story of devil and saint. Insert some secondary characters that are just as jacked up and boom you are hooked.
I never do spoilers and this really isn’t one but let me twist my evil ways and lure you in just like Stella did to me. I seriously turned back to the front cover and said that cover matches THIS .. what I just read. Oh hell no … and then I dove right off that cliff back into this scrumptious tale. Im going to condense it a bit but .. “After years I am the perfect little Stepford Girlfriend so he’ll never let me go. After 4 years he cheated on me. He recorded a video of their trysts. On Sunday I’d returned from my trip with Sloan and quietly slipped into my apartment hoping to surprise Jackson but instead found him sitting on our sectional watching a video of himself and a girl I recognized. For a moment I toyed with denial. But I saw up close it was him. I stood motionless behind Jackson who was jacking off to it all too lost in his own pleasure to realize that I was standing right there in the same room.” ….. WTH – See what I mean?!?!?
And then the story starts to unfold. The social scene that Stella creates is an overpowering plot that makes you wonder how much this actually happens. Everyone is so consumed with appearances and one-upping each other they disfigure their morals. Maintaining the perfect image is what counts and Jackson is no exception. His boys appear to the be same way; especially Dane.
As the story unfolds in these two book you wont believe the deception and trust me there is more than you ever thought possible to Jackson’s game he is playing. Lara will do whatever it takes to get out. She wont be trapped forever but she will have to play the game better in order to win. Im not saying a word but you will definitely murmur some choice words when you cruise through the pages when Lara meets Jackson’s brother. Oh yeah .. be prepared for that one.
