Miss Taken Identity (Miss Taken #2) by Cleo Scornavacca 3.5 stars
Rain and Raven Medici are identical twins. Although they come from a loving close-knit family their childhoods couldn't have been more different. Raven ran free and is now a successful lawyer with her father’s firm, engaged to Michael Conte and has the most thought out well planned life. Rain however was born with a blood disorder and denied most all of her childhood. Her best friend Tommy did the best he could to convince Rain’s mother to allow her out at times but it wasn’t anything compared to Raven’s childhood.
Dominick Kane is a product of his days as a child. He’s powerful, self-assured and knows he can achieve anything he desires. Nothing gets in his way. He never had a relationship with his father Vincent Kane and his mother wasn’t much better. Now that his father is dead he wants revenge. He wants to own what was rightly his. In order to get what belongs to him; he must kidnap Raven Medici but instead by accident takes Rain ….. or was it?
So much is going on in the story, so many twists and turns, so many unresolved issues. Between an ex of Rains, Michael and Raven, Tommy, Rains dad, a couple named Anna and Joseph, Darian, and Dominick it was hard to keep up. I will tell you if I hear the word “baby” one more time I might have to throw the kindle. TOO MUCH … TOOOOO MUCH. This did affect the rating which might be unfair but I couldn't get past it. It made me want to skim the pages instead of continuing to sink into the plot . The storyline was good and the two lead characters personalities along with Tommy were written well. There is no blood or scary “kidnap” scenes in this book so don’t worry there. This is a very torrid love story involving several of the characters and events of the past. Both book take you through this journey. I don’t want to say what happens in each because reviewing them together with the anticipation of book 3 due out soon “Sibling Rivalry” it would give away too much of what happens in each book. These are not standalones. You must read both books in order and I'm guessing book 3 to know where things stand with everyone. There could be several characters book 3 is based upon but again I wont tell you who as I'm not sure what the book holds for us. I’ve enjoyed reading both books in the series and am waiting to see how much gets resolved in the third book.
