Amy's 5 star ARC Review of A Love Letter To Whiskey by Kandi Steiner

It’s crazy how fast the buzz comes back after you’ve been sober for so long.

Whiskey stood there, on my doorstep, just like he had one year before. Except this time, there was no rain, no anger, no wedding invitation — it was just us.

It was just him — the old friend, the easy smile, the twisted solace wrapped in a glittering bottle.

It was just me — the alcoholic, pretending like I didn’t want to taste him, realizing too quickly that months of being clean didn’t make me crave him any less.

But we can’t start here.

No, to tell this story right, we need to go back.

Back to the beginning.

Back to the very first drop.

This is my love letter to Whiskey. I only hope he reads it.

A Love Letter To Whiskey
Kandi Steiner
5 stars

This book is gut wrenching. This book is brilliant. This book is a must read.

Breck and Jamie. The best of friends their junior year the two main characters send us into a decade of love and loss. As we move through the story there are misgivings, difficult times and things that cannot be taken back. Words are spoken and misunderstandings hurl B and Jamie into unforeseen events.

B is a girl with no nonsense that is hard to the core. Ready, not ready, available, not available. But one thing unwritten for sure was that she was always Jamie’s. Written in a form that we can relate to making her presence felt while reading her emotions are dripping from the pages. Jamie aka Whiskey is addicting … a drug that cannot be flushed from your veins.

Through high school then to college these two are plagued with memories of each other. Unsuspecting and agonizing words jump from the pages concerning these two and their relationship. Deception plays a role in this story and you sometimes think there isn’t going to be an ounce of happiness. There is but Im not going to say what or when. You have to trust me that you need to hang on.

An authors hope is that you feel something when you read their story. Whether it's sadness, hate, love, happiness or sheer joy they have done the ultimate and given you your reading high or low. Yes we love the low even though we say we don’t. I encourage you to click this one up. Make sure you aren’t going anywhere because you will change your mind and stay between the pages – bring you cold washcloth for your eyes and face – you are going to need it.

Thank you for the ARC Kandi. Excellent read. Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.
