Amy's 4 star ARC Review of Closer - The Unit by Sarah Greyson
Danger. Intrigue. Suspense. Former Green Beret Michael Cartwright thought he left all that behind him….
When Department of Defense Engineer Emma Welby takes on a Top Secret project for the Pentagon, she never expects to be running for her life. With a terrorist cell and a rogue CIA agent after her, the one man who can protect Emma thinks she is a traitor to her country.
Michael Cartwright is haunted by the tours he served in Afghanistan and Iraq. Sent on assignment to track down a terrorist, the last person he expects to encounter is the intellectually driven beauty that tempts and challenges Michael in a way that no one ever has.
With danger lurking around every corner, can Michael save Emma and keep his past from destroying his future?
+18 warning – This book is intended for mature audiences.

This book is a great story but you really need to like the military genre. If you don’t like rouge action adventure then don’t click it up because its not going to be your cup of tea. There is a lot going on in this one. There is also a bit of violence towards the female side so if that is a deal breaker for you then don’t click.
Michael is our military man out and trying to learn to be that horrid word .. a civilian. He finds himself hired to kidnap a woman. Through some very detailed events, Michael gets the feeling he might be working and have been hired by the wrong side. Who has been set up? Michael or Emma or both? This woman is nothing like what he was led to believe but he may have to kill her for the sake of Homeland Security.
Emma is a scientist who finds herself working on a top secret project. She has zero social life and keeps doing anything outside of work to a minimum. Finding herself held captive by a scary yet beautiful man has her world turned inside out and upside down. The man holding her captive believes her to be working for a terrorist group and has all the wrong information. Who led him to believe that she was a traitor? Not knowing who she can trust Emma finds herself in a situation she may not survive.
This is a great read and was really exciting. I love this type of story .. lots of action, suspense, drama and steamy stuff. There are two secondary characters that I really loved as well. Hopefully these two will get their day in the sun as well.
I'm anxious to see what happens next in her following release; Stronger! Thank you for the ARC. Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets
