Amy's Review of Taking the Fall Part 1 by Alexa Riley

Taking the Fall Alexa Riley

Synopsis - Layla O’Leary has had enough. For years she has been haunted by the night she can’t remember. When she learns the only man she's ever loved has betrayed her, she escapes and crafts a new identity. She's finally free...

Carter has waited eight years to claim his woman. Locking him up only fueled his obsession. The day he gets out he's coming for her. Taking the Fall was just the start. Now he'll stop at nothing to possess what's his.

Warning: this book contains a hero who grunts and growls his way through life, a heroine nicknamed Cherry looking to lose it, and instalove so fast and hard your panties might disintegrate. Note: not responsible for exploding panties.

Taking the Fall is a four part story. A new part will come out every two weeks. Please note the endings are NOT relationship cliffhangers. Layla is Carter's. He would never touch another woman.

Amy's Review -
This is part one to a five part series that Ms. Riley will be putting towards this story. This is a pretty easy read as its not long. I wish we had more but we don’t get it in this book. This story introduces us to Layla. Our lead female is running from her father after her mother disappears and the man she has loved for years is put in jail. Layla cannot remember what happened that night but its been four years and yearns for her memory. Carter has loved Layla all his life. He knows what happened that night – unfortunately we will have to continue to wait to find out the events that took place. The only thing Carter knows is the minute he gets out of prison he will come for Layla and protect her. He knows she is safe as he has paid big to keep her life under surveillance during his time in prison. Everyone involved will pay. This book is filled with suspense and we also get a glimpse into Volume 2. Im not sure you should read it as it will just make matters worse in the wondering and waiting department. I have not read any of Ms. Riley’s books until now and I am intrigued. This is a good start to what could be a great series. 3.5 Stars
