Leather and Lace (Trident Security Book 1) Samantha Cole 4.5 stars Leather and Lace is what I understand new author Samantha Cole's first book. You all know BDSM is not number one on my list due to the repetitiveness of the genre and storylines, so when Im telling you to go grab this up; you know it has to be better than good. The series she has created introduces us to the men of Trident Security along with some other characters. Clear your head and I introduce you to the guys and ladies. It’s a long list and I found myself writing it down to keep up BUT as I was writing I had a huge smile on my face because if this book turned out to be great I knew I had several more heading my way with each new name that appeared. The men of Trident, some who are brothers, are all former Navy seals who have formed their own security agency. Ian and Devon are also co-owners of a private, elite and highly secure BDSM club called The Covenant which they owned with their cousin Mitch. Ian and Devon Sawyer are brothers by blood, Brody Evans, Marco DeAngelis, and Jake Donovan all frequent Donovan’s. Jake’s brother Mike was the owner of the Irish pup. They came to the pub almost daily now checking on the girl they all considered their niece, Jenn. Jenn’s father Jeff Mullins suffered through basic with Ian and remained fast friends and after Jeff’s wife Lisa gave birth to the beautiful girl Jenn; Ian became a godfather. Jenn was now under all the men’s care as the team considered each other family after the tragic loss of both of Jenn’s parents six months prior Ben Michaelson also has just retired two years after the boys and now had joining the ranks of Trident as well. Kristen Anders , recently relocated to Tampa after divorcing cheating husband. She visited the area several times due to her cousin Will living in the area. Kristen is a popular romance writer. Her books did well but her first dabble into BDSM entitled Leather and Lace hit the best seller after being picked up and contracted with a publishing company. I absolutely LOVED the fact that Ms Cole wrote this story from this perspective. Not only was it extremely interesting to read about the plight of Indie authors but it gave the book a brilliant way to connect to readers. Genius! Kristen is under the gun to write the second book but is unsure and struggling to continue. She isn’t sure who the next book should be centered around. In order to clear her head she decides to get a change of scenery and goes to a local pub called Donovan's. Low and behold she has walked right into sin and heaven --- at the end of the bar is a collection of six men. One of them is the image of the Dom that she has been considering making the lead in book two; Master Xavier. Devon Sawyer aka "Devil dog" is sitting with his buddies when he spots the beautiful brunette in the booth eyeing him. Devon cant be bothered with a relationship. The club is perfect for him. He is respected and any relationships he has are at the club with a set time limit and just sex. However when he thinks his friend Brody is hitting in her and asking her out he gets jealous but it is what it is. He waited too long and lost his chance. Luckily events that dance through the pages show us that is NOT the case. This is a great book and a fantastic start to what could be another must have series. The book doesn’t only center around the club but it also includes dealings with Trident Security. The plot is fantastic on both accounts. Its almost like you are getting two stories in one. All I can tell you is there is more to the story of Jenn’s parents tragic accident. Because of that we are also introduced to a thrilling man named Carter. Uh yes … that’s all Im saying. Although I know he is NOT the subject of book two Im certain Ms. Cole wont leave us hanging and eventually he will get his own story. HINT HINT Ms. Cole if you are reading this! You all know by now I don’t do spoilers. What I can say is go get this book. Its FREE if you are a Kindle Unlimited subscriber.
