Amy's Review of Shut Up and Kiss Me by Madeline Sheehan & Claire Riley

Synopsis

She ran from her past.

After relocating from a small town in Tennessee, Mila has been living in New York City for a year in half, more than happy to be lost in the crowd. Living vicariously through her best friend and roommate Nikki, Mila spends her day’s waitressing and her evenings at home. Then, one night, after getting exclusive tickets to a nightclub downtown, Nikki is able to convince Mila to let loose for once.

He’s running from his future.

Having lived a privileged life, William is used to getting what he wants, and who he wants. Now though, in his thirties, he’s bored, and seeking more from his life than mindless sex, and even worse—mindless women. Spotting Mila from across the club he realizes right away that she’s different from what he’s used to, an observation that proves true. One night together will change everything for both of them. Pasts and futures will collide, secrets will be revealed, and the results will transform both their lives forever.

Shut Up and Kiss Me – Madeline Sheehan & Claire Riley 4.5 stars Let me start with saying Madeline Sheehan in my opinion wrote one of the BEST MC series ever to be published with Undeniable. I was not sure what to expect when I turned to the first page of this book and was almost afraid as I wanted to love it because it was HER … and I did. Shut Up & Kiss Me is a contemporary romance with some great characters; especially the male lead William. This book was a true romance. Now shocking Im normally NOT the romance type with the whole courtship and getting to know each other. I like the rugged rough man with the boots and cut riding in on a Harley. But this is really good. The characters are entertaining and real. Mila is our leading lady. She is harboring a dark secret that only her best friend Nikki knows. Nikki is a hoot. Im telling you this girl is hilarious and I love the fact that she is 30 and single, confident and not watching her clock tick like most of the other romance novels. Nikki is the kind of friend that every girl wants in a best friend, and she and Mila are a great match for each other. Then we have William our leading man. This guy is fantastic; refusing to conform to his families expectations and charting off into his own waters of wealth on his terms. His best friend Richard who is also his driver is fantastic as well. Richard caught me completely off-guard and I was completely smitten with him by the last page. This group is definitely a group I want to read more of. Now don’t think there isn’t some hot and steamy in this book because there is. We know Madeline knows how to write hot and steamy! However Will is nothing but respectful and is a man’s man in the sense that he is passionate AND thrives on wanting to know everything he can about Mila. Will brings his own different and refreshing identity to this story. Shut Up and Kiss Me is a light read to carry to the beach or the pool. Its absolutely fantastic. All I can say is PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give me book 2 with Richard and Nikki. I see a great story there! ---- ONE CLICK!
