Amy's ARC Review of Big Bad Wolfe by Elle Doolittle Available June 16

Synopsis

Sarah Maxwell had spent years trying to forget one man. She buried herself in her family's business for nine years, trying to forget the scent of his skin and the way his body felt against hers.

How could one night mean so much? Do so much damage?

Self-made and very successful businessman Falon Wolfe can't get a certain luscious redhead out of his head. He travels the world turning failing companies around by any means necessary. In his private life, he’s hardly without female companionship. But no one gets in. No one stays.

At the request of his grandfather, Falon finds himself at Maxwell, Williams and Blake, a place he vowed never to return to. Sarah Maxwell stirred something in him he hadn’t felt in a very long time, and he wanted nothing to do with it.

What he did want was Sarah, as many ways as possible, while he was in Chicago. And when the job was done, so was she. That’s the way it worked with Falon Wolfe and the women he bedded; always had and always will.

The past has caught up with them. A future together looks impossible. The only thing either of them knows for certain is being together means they will both have to learn to break their own rules

Big Bad Wolfe – Elle Doolittle 3.5 stars Sarah has spent the last nine years at her grandfathers company and has found it now on the brink of losing everything. Her grandfather wants to bring it back on its feet and has taken the help of his former friend in turning the company around. Sarah is expecting an older gentleman just like her grandfather but instead she gets the surprise of her life. You see Sarah is trying to forget a one night stand with a guy in college – a guy who acted like it never happened and he had no idea who she was the day after and low and behold he is standing in front of her now; Falon Wolfe. Falon arrives at the company that he has been sent to evaluate and is met by a very rude and sassy/outspoken employee. He has no recollection of who she is or the night they spent together. After the realization that they went to college together let known but Sarah’s friends during lunch his dreams return of a night that he believes wasn’t real. He was drunk and he must have imagined the beautiful girl that slipped into his bed. It was basically the best night of sex he has ever had. There are a lot of antics between these two and bouts of jealousy. The banter is amusing but the scenario between them is fairly drawn out. I would have liked to have seen more depth to these characters other than the on the surface sassy female who in truth has no idea how to proceed with Falon and a arrogant male lead. Sarahs friends Frank and Marcy; Sarahs friends and colleagues are more entertaining then than leads. Its not a bad story I just would have liked to have seen a more in depth story. However if you like banter between two characters prior to the HEA than you should consider clicking Big Bad Wolfe!
