Amy's Review of Relinquish by M. N. Forgy

Synopsis

In my world, there is no such thing as love. It is just a lie we whisper into our client’s ear. Love is foreign and hazardous. What I did not expect was to bare my soul to a man who is as egotistical as he is dangerous.

His name is Landon. Despite his blackened soul, he tried to save me, but what he didn't expect was my torturous fate to catch up with me.
To your father, I'm the escort.
To your mother, I'm the whore.
To the legal system, I'm the prostitute.
In the end, I'm just the other woman.
I have no idea if I will continue to survive, if I will ever find my path aside from the gritty streets I know so well. There is a good chance I will wind up in the ditch like most women in my position. Surrendering to my fate is the only choice I have. I must relinquish it all

Relinquish - by M.N. Forgy -- Due out June 17th 3.5 stars Relinquish is the story of a young girl who found herself in foster care after witnessing her mother's murder. The only thing she remembers is the winged tattoo that covers the back of the man who shot her. She was only a child. She did as she was told and stayed under the table for two days yelling out for her mother until she was found and taken away. They want her to remember but she doesn't want to. Landon sees something in Charlie that he has not seen much in his line of business. Sure there are beautiful women but none that are as naturally beautiful as her. He cant have her and he doesn't understand why he is drawn to her. His father would never allow him to be with someone of her likes. Charlie is surviving the only way she knows how. She didn't intentionally mean to fall into the line of work. She was naïve in that sense. But Charlie has to provide for she and Jayden. If this is what it takes then she will do it. This story is a very easy read. It has some odd moments in it that I didn't understand why they were there. The story is good but for me it wasn't my cup of tea. I enjoy a story that is more "realistic" for lack of a better word. I don't see these events taking place. There is way too much to forgive and Charlie jumps from one place to another quickly. She also is only 18 which again makes the story a little iffy for me. Having said that again its not a bad read. Its a quick and easy read with a decent story line. Im guessing we are going to see more of these characters as Landon's brother Roman takes great interest in Charlie's friend Jayden. Give it a try and one click.
