Amy's ARC Review of Indelible You (Imagine Ink, #1) by Verlene Landon

Ink is indelible.
So is love, at least in theory.

He’s an over-inked, reformed bad boy and she is the slightly older, seemingly out of reach woman who’s head over heels (actually knees over shoulders) in love with him. Almost as much as he is with her.

Somehow, they have remained oblivious to their mutual attraction for five years.

One night, they take the plunge. Love conquers all, right?

They expose hearts and bodies, expecting a happily ever after until a terrible secret is revealed—during climax.

Anything worth having is worth bleeding for—and boy will they bleed—but will it be enough to drain the taint of that secret, or will it be fatal for both of them?

Some things are more permanent than tattoos.

WARNING!
This book contains material not suitable for readers under 18 or those offended by detailed sex and coarse language. It contains scenes, words and descriptions some may find objectionable. Including, but not limited to, F-bombs, sex scenes and flashbacks to violence.

3.5 stars

This is a new author for me. Let me start by saying I started out loving this book and then went .. what?!?! ….. This is definitely a love story about misunderstanding, pain and healing. But for me after wanting someone so deeply for five years and in a heated moment a secret is revealed you walk away and say the things you do … ehhhh … it was almost as if the book burned me at that moment. I get it .. that’s the preface of the drama that then unfolds throughout the story but still …. I was kind of not amused after that point. COME ON!

Walker Reid doesn’t believe he deserves the love of a woman like Erika. He came out of cell block and she came out of heaven. In a heated moment of being “thrown together” or so Walker thought but more so planned out by Erika. It was now or never for Erika to lay it on the line. And then she said ….. And then holy drama … I mean drama with all capital letters.

I'm not saying this is a bad story I'm just saying what happens next was not what I expected and instead of saying oh wow where is this going after all the build up of the five year love from a far the emotion the other way was just too much. Having said that I am glad that our lead male has such moral character … you will understand once you click. That’s a good man right there for sure but then on the flip side not hearing Erika out … that’s a strike against so … yeah I'm flip flopping on the fence … LOL!

Give it a whirl and tell me what you think. Love stories and drama are good but this one was not my WOW story. It might be yours though! You all know I always encourage you to click it up because just because it wasn't my cup of tea doesn't mean its not yours. I received an ARC for an honest review. Oh and good cover .. very NICE!
