My ARC review of October: Calendar Girl (Book 10) by Audrey Carlan

 Silicone, surgery, and Hollywood starlets.

The land of the stars was beckoning and I answered its call. Now that I was free, well, as free as anyone could be, I decided to pursue something for me. To grab life by the horns and ride that sucker until I found my place within it. That decision brought me back home to Malibu, California, where I awaited the beginning of this next phase in my journey.

The job? Create a segment surrounding Living Beautiful for celebrity doctor and daytime television guru, Dr. Hoffman. The man was known for his cunning wit, good looks, and no nonsense lifestyle. In a city that was filled with plastic Barbie dolls, and nothing you touched was real, I set out to find beauty. And in doing so, I found a lot more that, for me, for the man I loved, and for the rest of the nation.

***
In the tenth book of the Calendar Girl serial, Mia is settled in her new home in Malibu, California. Now that her debt has been paid, and the threat from her ex is gone, she no longer has to live life as an escort. Only life has thrown her some new challenges to round out her year.

Each installment in the Calendar Girl Serial will release every month throughout 2015.

Warning: This book is designed for audiences 18+ due to language and graphic sexual content.

ARC received for an honest review.

Can I just say that each month I love the cover better than the month before.  I love this one!  The orange just POPS~!

We pick up where Sept left off.  Mia is still dealing with all that has happened to her in the months of Aug/Sept.  She is mostly dealing with and trying to come to terms with the news of Wes.

She returns to Malibu.  Where she waits for the return of Wes.  Will he come home?

She returns to Malibu and finds this amazing job!  Which at times I thought was some kind of hoax.

There was a lot going on in the month that I am still questioning.

~ Her new job
~ This Gina woman
~ Her Best Friend moving to Malibu
~ Her brother Max (yep...still not sure about him)
~ The ex boyfriend
~ Wes

POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT....... STOP NOW IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW THIS IMPORTANT PIECE OF INFORMATION!

~ Wes comes home.  And he's pretty shaken up.  Not only physically, but mentally.  Audrey touches on a subject matter that will hit home for so many.  Mia and Wes are dealing with a very tense relationship now.  Wes isn't' the same Wes she fell in love with.  And trying to fix him is going to be a long journey in itself.

I felt that her Best Friend just dropping everything and moving in with them was a bit much.  I mean, I know she went through a lot last month and yes, Mia was involved in all of that.  But, Wes is not well.  Why would you bring someone else into the picture when you have enough to deal with.

This Gina girl. She was dealt a bad hand.  Very bad hand.  But, she seems off to me.  I am not sure what her deal is yet.  I know that going through what she did can screw someone up. But - I am feeling a bit wishy washy when it comes to her and her true intentions now that they have returned home.

This new job that Mia has.  I felt it was too good to be true when all of a sudden it fell into her lap.  But, the more I think about it.  Her Aunt is one awesome Agent! =)  Now, after the news of Wes and all that....I felt the job was even more of a hoax.  Like they were just using Mia.  Time will tell I guess.

This series is coming to a close soon and I am sad.  It has been a fun ride!
