Amy's 5 star review of King by TM Frazier
Synopsis
Homeless, hungry and desperate enough to steal, Doe has no memories of who she is or where she comes from.
A notorious career criminal just released from prison, King is someone you don’t want to cross unless you’re prepared to pay him back in blood, sweat, pu$$y or a combination of all three.
King’s future hangs in the balance. Doe’s is written in her past. When they come crashing together, they will have to learn that sometimes in order to hold on, you have to first let go.
Warning: This book contains graphic violence, consensual and nonconsensual sex, drug use, abuse, and other taboo subjects and adult subject matter. Although originally slated to be a standalone, KING is now a two part series.
King (Part 1 of a 2 part series) TM Frazier 5 stars – I have sat here staring at the blinking cursor for almost 10 minutes now not knowing how to start this review. This is a book you want to scream about with excitement, anguish, and so much more. I am struggling to find the words to even describe what I am feeling right now STILL after finishing the book almost 12 hours ago. I want to tell you everything … but I cant; that would be snatching away your journey in reading one of the most brilliant and tantalizing stories I have ever had the privilege of reading. “Read” doesn’t even describe what I did … I absorbed every single word on every single page of King. What I will share is the enormous personalities in the characters portrayed. King is a career criminal leaving his home at age 12. His life was nothing that he wanted or knew it should be. After defending a nerdy kid from a bully; Preppy became his best friend. They made goals and plans that day. Goals and plans King never thought would come to pass. But they survived. Both of them and now King is back home just released from his 3 year sentence in prison. Doe has no memory of who she is or where she came from. A series of events led her straight to King. Events that she knew were wrong but she had nowhere else to go and no one else but Nikki in her world. TM Frazier takes you from this point in the story on a stomach wrenching beautiful story. I have never found two completely wrecked people so enthralling. Add Preppy to that list as well when his past is revealed. Im so broken over this first book. Tyrant, the final part in this series is due out August 17th. All I can do is shake my head, try to clear my thoughts and wait. There was a warning at the beginning of this ARC. It warned readers to NOT continue if a cliffhanger will cause you to break out in stress related hives … I should have listened because not only do I have hives but Im kaput emotionally. King gutted me. So now …. You go ONE CLICK. I mean it … you do NOT want to miss this because in truth aren’t those feelings the reason why we read? Standing ovation TM Frazier.
