Synopsis
Blood is thicker than water…
Having endured more than their share of tragedy, sisters Lily and Sasha embark on a dream holiday—only to find themselves in hell. Kidnapped by a rich madman, Sasha is sold into slavery, while Lily is forced to join The Collection, a unique bevy of exotic beauties enduring frequent horrors at the hands of elite bidders. However, no amount of pain and suffering will break Lily, who will stop at nothing to save her younger sister. Possibly with help from an unlikely ally.
Love is stronger than loyalty…
Attempting to prove his allegiance to his employer, Jake is tasked with guarding the unruly and uncontrollable Lily. He can’t afford to help her in her quest to free Sasha—not if he hopes to fulfill his own agenda. But in their dark, gritty, tension-filled world, solace is taken wherever it’s found. Bonds are formed and hearts engage despite Jake’s resistance and both their attempts at self-preservation.
When certain secrets come to light, the resulting explosion has breathtakingly bittersweet consequences that, by the end, may not leave everyone whole…or alive.
You Loved Me At My Darkest - Evie Harper
3.5 stars
Lily Morgan and her younger sister, Sasha, decide to take a much needed break and go on a trip of a lifetime with one of their stops being New York City. After the devastating loss of their parents and having to take on the responsibility of their family farm in Australia they have earned the time to explore and see the world. What a better place to start than NYC. Their dream vacation quickly turns into a horrendous nightmare when they are kidnapped and taken into the dark world of sex slave trafficking. Lily and Sasha are separated when the make their final stop in hell. Sasha is to become a working slave to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. Lily is to be kept apart as part of the infamous “collection” owned by Marco O’Connor, the king of the black market. This man is NUTS but Lily will stop at nothing to protect her sister.
Jake is assigned to guard Lily – well from this point on some of the story is predictable. Im not saying its bad Im saying its predictable at times. There is suspense, romance and also some pretty nasty scenes involving serious topics which Im sure you can imagine due to where the girls are.
You Loved Me is considered a series but can be read as a standalone. I have been told that each book will feature a different set of characters. One click, read on and enjoy!
